What breed? If it is a SMALL breed (yorkie or such), it my not be eating enough!!!!!!
Sleeping is not your concern, is the puppy getting enough to eat is!!!!!
The puppy should be eating 3-5 times a day (6 week to 51/2 months after this age, they can go to 2x a day). If it is not getting up to eat, it is starving to death! If this IS the case, get some honey (small breed, 1/8th tsp lg breed, 1/4 tsp) and put it into its mouth...this will give it the energy to wake up, then feed it some softened puppyfood, or even first foods baby food (chicken).
If it is an older puppy, and it eats well, then "let sleeping dogs lie".

puppies are like human babies. they sleep and eat alot!
your pup will take naps throughout the day, don't worry. dogs are very good at knowing what they need. if he needs to sleep, then let him:)
also, he should be getting 3 meals a day, then once he is a little older you can go to 2 feedings a day, then 1.
if he's sleeping more than normal, it's most likely a growth spurt. if he is sleeping more than normal and is also behaving funny when awake, then he may be sick, so take him to the vet.

As much as they want. Growing up takes a lot of energy and their little world is just chock full of things to see and do.

ALOT. they should play for hours then sleep for hours then repeat the cycle over and over again. with some peeing and pooping in between

my dogs are all fully grown and they still sleep atleast 12 hours a day.

A lot...they are growing. They'll have big bursts of energy, then crash out for a couple of hours.
