I have a spoon, a knife, not sure what else really. Any tricks?

Thank you all! I got the can open and am now enjoying the soup. The first suggestion, by juliesunit, was exactly what I did and it worked fine. I had tried the stabbing already; it didn't work so well. Thanks!

Throw it on the ground and kick it a lot.

Stab it a few times with the knife. Then stick the knife in the holes and keep working it until you get it open. It must be an old can of soup because all of the ones that I buy now have pop lids.

The heavy back end of a French knife(chefs Kinife) will do the trick.

Or, if you have a bottle/can opener that is round on one side for the bottle cap, and pointed on the other side for a can, pierce the can all the way around, grab the lid with pliers or a paper towel and pull it off

A sharp edged knife at the edge of the can, and tap it gently with a hammer. Repeat this around the rim of the can, gently... until you can pry it open.

Hammer and screwdriver would work better than a spoon and knife.

put the knife in the edge on the can and hit is with your hand all the way around
