the days repeat every 28 years because of leap years occurring 1/4 and days occuring 1/7.
so 1947+28+28=2003.
the year 2003 was the ''same'' as 1947 for the days.1 Feb 03 was a Saturday and so it was in 1947. Happy 59th Birthday for 1st Feb.

it was a saturday--my husband was born sept. 1st 1942-
that was a Monday--so, all you have to do is count the years between 1942 & 1947--it moves up one day per year--so fom 1942 to 1947 is 5 years--move the first
up 5 days & you have what day it fell on in 1947.
