When I graduated from basic, they did give us a family day and we were allowed to leave the post. We weren't allowed to change out of BDU's but that didnt stop most of us from doing it anyways. And if I remember properly, there is time between graduation and leaving for AIT when the family can come to the unit and see where we stayed, ate, ect... The DS's introduce themselves and finally say some NICE things about the soldiers:) All in all, I would say a couple of days and at least one one day where you can get some good quality time together. Congrats to your honey on making it through Sill:)

Navy here but should be the same. We could leave the base but had to be in uniform. That was a long time ago so things might have changed. Also, we were restricted to how far we could go off base.

He should get some time off to spend with you when he finishes, how much depends on when he has to report to AIT. Then once in AIT he will have a little free time on weekends to see you if not far. Once he finishes all of his training you will be able to live with him on base as long as he does not get a hardship tour. usually they do not do that for first assignments of married people, but nothing is for sure.
