Sloppy Joes, or Hot dogs with macaroni & cheese. Those are always a hit with the Kids. If you want to get creative make french bread pizza. Slice a loaf of French bread in half lengthwise. Use spaghetti sauce for the sauce. Shred some cheese and add peporoni and pineapple. Yum. Bake just long enough to heat through and melt the cheese.

Cook some macaroni, drain, chop up some ham, fry it up and add the macaroni to the pan. Crack a couple of eggs on top and stir it all up. Season with a little salt and pepper. Kids love this with ketchup. For the adults you could separate your portion and add a chopped tomatoe.

beans and rice...that is what I grew up on and when times were rough we ate a lot of them. A package of red kidney beans will cost you about 88 cents and then the rice which you prob have on hand. Then throw in some seasonings...your choice. Good to have some kinda of ham in it tho..I can find a pack of seasoning ham for under a dollar at the local stores. Fills you up and has loads of protein.

you can go and buy a bag of egg noodles ($1.00)gives you about 2 to 3 servings and a few jars of Alfredo sauce( $1.00per jar) If you want to stretch it out get mott. cheese and add about a cup per jar of sauce. Its very good as left overs too.
A loaf of bread and a package of cheese goes a long way in our house. if you children like soups you can make grilled cheese and have a soup to go with it.....we usually have tomato soup...
speaking of tomato soup (if your kids like it) its a very fun soup for kids they can put peperoni's and cheese and make a pizza soup..basically you can add anything...just be creative.
also mashed potato's are very filling so if you have a few extra bucks always add in mashed potato's.you can get the generic can of garlic chicken broth and instant mashed potato's add the broth in place of the water and it makes a great garlic mashed potato. hope i helped you out some.

Pasta, most kids love pasta and all sorts of sauces can be made for very liitle., especially if you do them in bulk and freeze the remainder.
Turkey breasts are cheap and be roasted served with rice or potates and veg. Or they are very easily adapted into most chicken recipes.
Use cheap cuts of chicken / turkey and make pot pies. Chicken wings are another good one for kids. Serve with a homemade coleslaw.
Omelettes are quick easy and as expensive as you want to make them!

Spaghetti, everyone loves it and it feeds a lot of people. Hunts is a cheep brand of sauce for about a dollar, noodles are a dollar too and if you like meat that should only be a couple more dollars. That is what I do when money is tight.
