Now, we have a thousand of obscurely named diseases that we can blame instead...

"Oh poor little johnie, he has ADDT"
- you mean he is a pyscho? How sweet...

Why are we invented so many silly ailments to label our children? Is it just to satisfy the parents?

The more advanced science gets in studies and testing, the more able the scientists are in determining how things differ.
Diseases change over time and so do treatments.
If a child has an organic reason to learn differently or an emotional one, then they could be taught differently.
This is all to help rather than hurt.
There are many reasons for retardation. Heck, you could be riding a motorcycle, damage your brain in an accident and become retarded. It can happen to anyone.

What infuriates me is that normal children are expected to learn in the same class as retards and a teacher is somehow supposed to make this miracle happen. Retarded children (or to be nice: children with learning disabilities, etc) need to be in a special school, not dragging normal students down to their retarded levels - this is what has been happening in the USA. The result? Hordes of fine young morons and retards graduating from our idiot institutions. I would never allow my child to attend school in the US.

To our Asker and all who have answered thus far: just promise me you won't breed.
My children are normal, thank god, but I've seen others with these so called "fake" ailments, that have improved functions on special therapy and/or drugs. And their parents are not lazy, in fact they cared enough to see a problem and get it checked out, AND, they are lucky that they can afford the extra $$ to pay for the care, and they are diligent in helping their child improve. Unlike your parents I guess.
These kids are going to be running the world and taking care of us when we're seniors, be nice or they won't change your diapers.
