Mormons believe mostly what Christians believe, i.e. that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior, and through him we can have eternal life if we accept Him in our lives and ask for His forgiveness.
What sets apart Mormons from other Christians is that they believe that Jesus and God appeared to Joseph Smith, Jr. (the "latter-day saint"). They believe that God is making direct revelations to people on earth all the time. Most Christians think that the Bible is what it is and it won't ever change (except that our interpretation might change). Mormons believe that the Bible and the Book of Mormon (called the "canon" of the religion) are not closed; they can be added to.

I am not a Latter Day "Saint" member (they're like the mormons), but I had a professor who was. He gave me this site to get a picture of what he believed (I'm a Christian, not a mormon. I don't agree with their doctrine at all!):
