Some TV Evangelists aren't true to their calling or to God. Some Christians aren't, some Jews aren't. You can't judge an entire group of people on what some do wrong.
My Pastor doesn't have a rolex, he makes enough to take care of his family, that's it. The rest he gives to the ministries of the church (to reach out to the community, to feed the homeless, for after school programs, etc.).
I donate as much as God puts on my heart to do so. I see a need and I become a part of helping to meet that need. I get involved in whatever ways I can. Do I think this will get me to heaven? No, only salvation through Christ can do that. But "faith without works is dead".
"It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham's offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham." (Romans 4:13-16)

TV Evangelists are not at all the right example of what a "preacher" should be. TV has the ability to distort one's priorties. My pastor doesn't buy "nice" things. And only a slim fraction of our giving actually goes to our pastor. A lot of it goes into missions and ministry. You should really look into every-day churches before you start criticizing. TV is not a TRUE represtentation of real life. Not only are TV Evangelist's priorities off, but so is their doctrine which is why it's a shame they're televised. Sorry you were mislead by these people...

Not all wear Rolex's. My pastor wears a pair of khakis and a nice shirt. Some of the Evangelist r no good, but you cant judge others for what they do. Have you ever thought that maybe they were a fake Rolex?

i think the tv deal they have brings in a lot more money than a rolex. But I do hate that people donate to those people, instead of actual poor people. Just think how many people a rolex's price can feed.

Because they are of this world not of God. Galatians 1.
When Jesus came he was simple and humble I can't imagine Jesus coming and having his own plane, a rolex, etc. he called the Parisees who were like that hypocrites and he told the rich man to sell what he had and give to the poor.
DO you know how much poor kids would get a meal from that rolex alone?
We should follow Jesus and be like Him.

A lot of those guys are teaching 'god returns 10 fold' as a form of scam to the gullible. "Look! I have a Rolex, a fancy car, a fancy house! You can too if you just send God money!"
- it's a sort of pyramid scheme where the only guy who gets any money is the one on TV.

Alright folks, for only 49.95, you can receive this leather bound bible with gold encrusted pages and a leather page keeper. For only 99.95, you will receive the bible along with the cd of my choir. If you act now, I will personally sign the bible for you. Oh, whats that you ask? Pay no attention to my 2006 BMW M3 in the parking lot, god wanted me to have that. I can feel the love in this room! Give me your money! Ahem, excuse me, the lord needs your money for the poor and starving of this world. Suckers.

Good question!
If it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to go to heaven, then why are these preachers rich?
Kind of ironic, dontcha think?
Or do you?
