And I don't mean using some dumb formula to figure it out the possibilities. Like I want a real legitimate test, that tells me the exact type that I am. Where can I get that do? Or will my doctors have that information on file?

Go to the Red Cross and donate blood. They have to figure out your blood type before they will accept a donation. Then you find out your blood type and do a good thing.

There is no medical reason to know what blood type you are. Blood typing is not always performed on every baby when it is born - it depends on the hospital and the doctors that work there. It is done if the mom is Rh negative and maybe if the mom is group O.
If you ever need a blood transfusion the hospital will perform your blood type and never ever rely on records because records can be wrong. If there is not time to do a blood type the hospital will use O negative because O negative is compatible for everybody.
If you are pregnant the doctor will want you to have a blood type done to see if you are Rh negative and if you might need Rhogam during or after the pregnancy.
You can find out your blood type by donating blood but this is NOT a good idea if you have unprotected sex or use drugs of any kind. You could pass on diseases to others and put them at risk for a selfish reason. Donate blood because you want to help someone live.
You can contact your doctor's office and ask them if they have your blood type on record (keep in mind that records can be wrong - due to misfiling or whatever - I've seen this alot!) and if not ask them if you can have the test performed and they will write you a doctor's order and you can have the test done by a lab.

You can donate blood at the American Red Cross. They also do complete blood screening so if you have any other issues like being anemic or any hidden disorders they will tell you - it's free and confidential.

And if you ARE ok, you not only get a free set of tests, but you get to help save someones life as well... and the cookies after you donated are a nice touch.

Just tell them that you do NOT want to be called to donate! That is the one drawback there is. They call healthy donors back because, honestly, not enough people donate and i times of disaster or war they are always short of what they need to keep the hospitals in supply.

Doctor should have that on file. Call up & ask, if they don't then see if they can do a test for you to find out.

Donate to the Red Cross. They will mail you your blood type with a thank you letter and you might help save someone.

You could probably just have your doctor do it for you. I had my blood typed when I was pregnant and my son was typed at birth due to the possibility of Rh sensitivity.

If you have your birth certificate handy, it might say on there. Mine does. Or, ask your doctor. They might. If not, they can do a test.
