or would you feel speechless in such an "Atheism"-category?
Do you need theists in order to feel you are an atheist, or do you feel you are an atheist independently from any kind of religion?
Are you actually more involved in religious beliefs than you are aware of? (anti-theism)
or Do you feel disconnected from any kind of religion (non-theism)?
Do you need to "fight" against religions in order to feel you are an atheist?
or Do you feel serenely atheist even in presence of theists?

Actually, I really think that many people could bring many interesting ideas in such an "Atheism"-category...
It seems very constructive, in my view.

Why are you asking this question of atheists? Aren't there any number of places where you can share praise of God with other members of your religion? Why address atheists? why are you so concerned about atheists? Isn't your relationship with God sufficient so that you don't have to go around chiding atheists all the time? Why not concentrate on others who share your love of God instead of those who disagree with you? Is it that you have some doubts about your faith and you feel uncomfortable that there are those who openly disagree with you so you are psychologically drawn to us and need us?
I like to discuss philisophical, moral and religious questions. I'm interested in how people reach their conclusions. I'd probably enjoy discussing it in any event. But I'm drawn to the discussion in particular because so many people tell us that our laws and our government policies must be based on Christian doctrine. There are people who oppose science and want to change what our schools teach to fit a narrow interpretation of a holy text. This is a challenge that requires opposition. So here's the deal- once the theists stop pushing their religion on society and government I'll stop arguing against it.

well as that is a decent idea, the reason why it wouldent work is because some jacka$$ would go to that catigory just to bash on atheists. do you want a catigory for your religion?
or would you feel speechless in such a catigory?
Do you need atheists in order to feel you are a theist, or do you feel you are an theist independently from any kind of atheism?
Are you actually less involved in religious beliefs than you are aware of?
or Do you feel connected to any kind of religion?
Do you need to "fight" against atheists in order to feel you are an theist?
or Do you feel serenely theist even in presence of atheists?
now do you see how stupid thoughs questions are sounding?

1. I've been here since beta testing. I feel quite comfortable.
2. If there were no theists there would be no need for us to identify as "atheists." We don't call certain people "air-breathers," as it is accepted that all people breathe air.
3. I'm not sure I understand this part of your question.
4. I'm not sure that "disconnected" is the appropriate term.
5. Absolutely not. Living, as I do, in a civilized place (NYC) I do not need to do anything to "feel" like an atheist. It is only on YA that I feel the need to be outspoken and make it clear that atheists are people too.
6. Absolutely.

Have you ever checked other forums intended for and built by atheists? Do you know what happens there?
I'll tell you: they are inundated daily by christianazis who think they have a right to proselytize and insult. Now go look at christian-only or other such religions and find out how often atheists invade and insult people. You won't.
Yahoo's "Religion & Spirituality" is an open forum available to all, not solely one religion or only those who have one. You have a right to voice your opinion here, and atheists have a right to state facts here to refute it. Fair's fair.
You can report something you don't like (eg. suggesting that members of a specific religion are all pedophiles), but disagreeing with your view (I say to-may-to, you say to-mah-to) isn't a good enough reason.

a million. it is stupid - the category the position questions about atheists are positioned would not remember to me. 2. not extremely. I doubt an entire section should be justified I recommend seem how few cats are "in" the cat section... 3. i ought to imagine a similar issues that i imagine now. 4. i don't comprehend. If that became the position the questions about atheism were positioned - then sure i ought to probable answer a lot of those questions there rather.

1) I run an atheist forum and have no problem speaking in it (I do allow theists to join if they so desire....just like they would participate in an atheist category if one existed)
2) I don't need others to validate my worldview, but it is interesting to learn about various belief systems and even how other atheists view various issues.
3) I don't participate in any religious beliefs or rituals (unless you count spending time with family over Christmas holidays)
4) I prefer calm rational discussion...there is no need to fight.

I'm not uncomfortable in this section. I would categorize myself as non-theist given the descriptions above. I just don't believe it matters all that much. Religious beliefs are just one aspect of who a person is. I care much more about a person's character regardless of what it is based on.
P.S. Look around. Atheists are "called out" much more than theists are so what difference does it make what category it's in? I, for one, don't live and breathe obsessing about your religious beliefs. Why must theists obsess about my lack of them?

Yes, I am here to educate theists. That is the only reason I am here. The only reason anyone, in this day and age, would believe in any of the popular religions out there, is because they don't know any better. I am here to inform them of all the PROOF that proves that their religion is false. Religion is dangerous, and it needs to be stamped out as soon as possible, for the good of the human race. I'm doing my part to make that happen.
And I make no apologies for it.

The last time i checked, religious types were jamming it down our throats. Everywhere we go, we are beaten down with religious rhetoric, of all types. People telling us that jesus loves, allah loves us, have we taken the lord jesus christ as our savior, jehovas witness knocking at our doors and the wars taking place as we speak on the basis of religious differences. So, yes, maybe i feel the need to bring my thoughts to you for a change. When was the last time an Atheist knocked on your door trying to spread their beliefs? Get over yourself. The day you stop spouting beliefs all over the papers and news and stop fighting wars over religion is the day i will stop voicing my opinions.

I like to hear other points of view. I've had questions that have accumulated in my mind for a long time--and now I finally have someone to answer them.
Besides, if there was a seperate atheist section, it would probably be just like this one--a lot of christians hoping to convert or just discuss with atheists would go there. So there is no point in a seperate forum for atheists.
