Well I guess it depends on whether your strategy is working. Are you losing weight or feeling better? If so, I'd say go on with your Sunday breaks. As long as you're not binging out all day, I don't think it would damper the progress you've made throughout the week anyway.
If you are binging or aren't getting the results you wanted, try getting some of the foods you want in diet versions. Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig, etc. make all kinds of foods you can buy at most grocery stores that taste great and happen to be low-calorie or low-fat. They even have desserts and chips! As for your soda (we call it "coke" down here, haha), just drink diet... it has no fat and no calories, so you can enjoy the taste without the consequences. Good luck!

Sounds like you are making a great attempt to eat healthy. 6 days out of 7 aint bad! You have to treat yourself once in a while otherwise you will go crazy and binge.
I would just say, make sure you keep your portion size down. One soda or one chocolate bar a week shouldn't hurt your diet as long as you are not drinking a whole litter of soda or when you say "chocolate" you don't mean 3 snickers and 2 hershey bars.
This is what I eat that tastes great and is almost guiltless:
fat-free chocolate pudding pack w/ fat-free cool whip
fat-free hot chocolate
lowfat frozen yogurt w/ fruit
sorbet (especially the lemon kind)
Frozen grapes (they're good, try it!)
Diet berries n'cream dr pepper.
Hand full of almonds or walnuts once in a while.

--Since your on a diet and most ppl on yahoo are in America the fattest country in history I will assume you are overweight or at least not in good shape.
I will be blunt. Of course it is stupid to treat yourself once a week. It takes the body two weeks to adjust to the food changes when one goes on a diet and an additional two weeks to start squeezing the junk out. Pro athletes, particularly those who travel abroad, normally take a nutritionist and/or chef with their own personal foods because a change in diet will affect them negatively and their bodies won't perform the way they need them too. Remember the treat isn't the crap you stick in your mouth on Sunday, it is looking and feeling healthy for sticking to the diet. Remeber, the diet won't work if you treat yourself and it definately won't work without excercise which goes in conjunction with the healthy eating. I do wish you luck.

That is good since stress is very fattening. It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. Lose bodyfat and retained water which also makes you a lot fatter (bloated). Most important-- make sure to read the last "fat loss tip", first before anything else, to see the number one food that causes Americans to be fat.

Theres nothing wrong with the occasional treat on Sundays, as long as its not too much. Something small and nice is fine.
In fact, its actually quite good that you're taking time of your diet. This little treat is the thing that's going to allow and motivate you to continue this diet of yours.
I say: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK =)

As long as splurging doesn't cause you to fall off the wagon, it's actually a good thing. If you eat the same every day your metabolism adjusts so that your body gets by on fewer calories. But by breaking your normal eating routine once a week and providing extra calories you may prevent that.
The Body For Life fitness plan stipulates one free day per week - no exercise and eat whatever you want.

I think its fine to treat yourself for a good week. Just in moderation. Good Luck in your diet, I have been dieting for 7 months now, I treat myself every now and then and I have still lost over 30 lbs. Exercise maybe a bit more that day to burn the extra calories.

1 treat after an entire week of healthy eating habits will not break your diet. Especially if you are routinely working out 6 of those 7 days.

Yes, go ahead and have a treat on Sunday's. It has worked for me. I call that day my cheat day, and it makes in the long run losing weight and keeping it off so much easier. You don't feel deprived. In moderation have what you enjoy for that day. Go back the next day to sticking to your diet. Don't forget to exercise during the week.Have a nice day......

I think that your body responds to what you do consistently so staying on a strict diet and then having one day of eating anything you like is perfectly fine. In fact many experts suggest that is the best way to avoid breaking your diet completely.
