Yes, I do believe that Jesus died for our sins because the Bible tells us so. No one, ever has ever been able to dis credit the Bible. Many have tried and only ended up with find out that everything is factual. So yes Jesus died for our sins and is you don't believe it... do some reach before you say no.
We are born with Adam and Eve's original sin. We are not born innocent. The Lord wants us to be innocent minded like a childs, to believe with all your heart and not let cynisism hinder your ablility to believe all that you can't see; but we are born dead in spirit until we accept the Lord as our savior. Jesus said in the Bible " I am the light, the truth and the way, no one can get to the father but through me." He also said" if you deny me I will deny that I ever knew you to the father." ( this is paraphrasing, but it's there and true) If you give your life over to the Lord, I mean really give it your whole heart and walk in the Lord's way, you will see how your life will change for the better. It will never be perfect because where there's good there's evil, but it will be better. Satan will always try to take you down. Don't let him... Before you dismiss something as important as this question, look into it!

I'm wondering why you submitted this Q under mental health... are you suggesting that believers are crazy? Because if you are that would be pretty funny.
I believe Jesus was a real person who got on the Romans' bad side and got nailed to a tree for it. I don't think I'm going to go to heaven when I die just because I believe in Him. He had some really good advice for how to live your life (you know, the whole "turn the other cheek" thing) but savior of all mankind? I don't think so. It makes for a nice story though.

No. I'm an atheist so I do not believe in heaven and hell and the sins that decide your fate. I believe Jesus lived and died. I didn't have anything to do with it though.

It's hard to tell from your question what your real question is. However, the one source that claims to have the authorative answer is the Bible. It states that Jesus became sin on our behalf. That is that he spiritually became us on the cross and that is what was killed. So Jesus did not die FOR our sins, but became our sins and took our spiritual punnishment for them. If we believe this, believe in Jesus, we have no more sin before God.

Yeah, maybe, but it wouldn't have made much of a difference if he'd failed to do so and given into temptation at the last minute. You know, if he'd taken all the kingdoms and knelt down before Lucifer.
It doesn't really matter to me because I know I'm probably going to hell either way. The only way it could make a difference is that if he did save some souls, maybe about 5-10% of the people who would have been going to hell with me will be in heaven instead.
For most people it doesn't really matter at all. > 90% are probably going to hell. Any good pastor could verify...

Jesus was a teacher and a man. I think he died either through delusional thinking, or to make a point to his followers. But I don't believe he was the son of god, and while he might have thought he was dying to redeem me, I certainly don't share the delusion.

I absolutely believe that God sent his son, Jesus, to live here on earth, die and rise from death to save the people of the world -- you, me, everyone.
We receive this gift of grace (love we don't deserve) for believing in Him.
It is hard to understand all of this -- in our humanity. We just don't think like God. He thinks alot bigger than us.
