He could probably gt aggressive if he is kept in those conditions, wouldn't you be cranky too?! It might be best that you call the state pound or summat to get it seized, that is neglect!

P.S. He could have been bred to fight so maybe thats why he is locked in a garage 22 hours a day and isn't taken for a walk, therefore been dngerous, i'd call the SPCA

How the dog reacts to other people wil definetly depend on how it was raised and keep in mind, the dog is in unfamiliar territory and may do what it can to protect it new territory. I would strongly suggest that you not let your children go around the animal. Wait until the neighbor can introduce your children to the dog. Then the dog sees that this is okay. Keep in mind, Pitbulls are known to be an aggressive animal and their moods can change quickly, I still would like allow my children to go near it when the owner is not around. If you are really concerned about the animals wellfare, call your local law enforcement or animal control. It's not good for the dog to be cooped up in the garage all day, this can add to the dog becoming aggressive if it does get out! Good Luck

That's depressing. This seems more like an animal cruelty case than a worry about your kids or neighbor's dog. Some pits are very sweet animals, so don't judge this one by some of the more violent pits. If he's locked up all day, and on a leash when walked there doesn't seem to be any danger here. Just instruct your kids not to approach this dog -- which is true of ANY dog, regardless of breed. There are insane bitey poodles just as there are insane bitey pits.

It's possible, but I'd be worried about the dog right now. Call the police before it dies in there! If a dog is being neglected and/or abused & you know but do nothing, you are as guilty as the owner. Why didn't you do anything the first time you noticed it had been in the garage for 22 HOURS??

Not all pibulls are dangerous. But the concern as an animal lover should be that the dog is neglected/abused. Being locked up in a hot area can kill any animal! You need to report the owner to animal control. You'll feel better just for saving its life!!

Pitbulls are strong dogs with a bad rep...but they're not dangerous in the right environment...

If you know for sure that this dog is in the garage for 22 hours, I would call the local ASPCA. They aren't providing proper care.

To be safe keep a distance...but you should be ok if they've only walked it once...

The dog is not necessarily a threat but it is not right that they keep him the garage all day. Do they have a yard with a fence? Call the ASPCA if you suspect that they are abusing the dog.

I agree with the first answer. But you can also call the SPCA to come and check on it. I love pits, I had several. I do have to admit ours were raised with kids and were good with them, but with other dogs was another story.
