It is a tough world. I understand the pressure you are under. It will not get any better until you take a stand. Who is really placing the pressure on you? Your mother? Your teacher? YOU?
Work hard. That is extremely important.
Extemporaneous speaking... are you afraid? If you are scared that is understandable, but if that is your reason for not competing then face your fear.
The world is full of people who failed. Everyone fails. You will not be judged by how many times the world knocks you down. You will be judged by how many times you get up !!
God loves you !!
Work hard. Give back to this world. Cut yourself some slack.
Keep your head up... I'm pulling for you !!

Tell your mom(nicely) that you need to talk to her. Then sit down and explain to her the situation and how uncomfortable you feel about it(i.e your not ready for this type of thing yet). I'm sure your mom will be on your side and then she can talk to your Teacher if the Teacher is being to pushy. If you can't talk to her, maybe you can talk to someone she will listen to like an Aunt/Uncle/Granparent/Friend's mom/Guidance Counselor.
Good Luck

I guess you have always been mama's boy. Sometimes, you have to stand up and speak out for yourself. You must live your life for yourself not for others. You can't please the world but as long as you are feeling comfortable doing what is best for yourself. I think others will realize and proud that you finally could make decision for yourself independently.
Keep up doing the best you can but remember you need not commit yourself in doing things you don't like or not feeling comfortable. Don't torture yourself. Be brave to voice out.
Good LUCK!

Be honest with her. Explain why you feel you are not ready. Have a plan of how you can improve on this shortcoming. Also, examine why you feel she would be disappointed. Do you really need to please her this much? Why?

Just tell her how you feel. Why should she be disappointed. Look at all the things that you have accomplished already.

Tell her how you feel about this. If she insists, do what kids have been doing for centuries. Whine non stop that you don't wanna. She'll get so sick of hearing it that she'll say ok ok just stop whining about it already will you??!!

You can either do it to get the new experience in your life or tell your mom you feel very uncomfortable with it.
