try something light. Molson and Labatt I think is good. Coors light, Natural Light, Budweiser, Keystone Light. Just get what's available and cheap. When you get to college, it's quantity, not quality that counts.

First, it's likely you won't like your first beer. Anyone who says they did is probably lying - they drank to feel grown up and cool, not for the taste.
Beer is an acquired taste. When you were little, you probably didn't like any vegetables. Now you probably like some. Why? Because you grew to like them. Just like you will with beer.
This all being said, you probably want to start with a very plain lager or pilsner. Nothing fancy, no microbrews, belgian ales, etc. Just a beer. Try a Bud, Coors or Miller. There are those that will tell you they like one of these far more than the other, but in reality many of these beers taste very much alike. Coors is probably the lightest of all of these. This will give you a taste of what beer is.
If you grow to like it, then you can experiment. Beer on tap generally tastes fresher than beer from a can or bottle (though being under 18, I don't know if you can get real beer on tap).
Whatever you do, don't get drunk and be an idiot. Alcohol can make anyone stupid, so just remember that you are not Superman, not every person of the opposite sex thinks you are hot, and you cannot drive a car.

Root. In all seriousness, there's really no reason to feel like you have to start drinking just because of your age. Chances are, if you liked beer you already know it by now and if you don't, you don't . It's really no big deal.
If you want to try a weak, watery beer any of the domestic light beers will do (Miller Lite, Bud Light, Coors Light) It's cheap and it sort of tastes like beer so you'll have some idea if beer is a taste you like or not.

Bud Light all the way. It is a smooth beer and easy to drink. Maybe you should put some beer salt on it, it will make it taste better for a beginner. Stick with the beer and not liquor for now. Be safe.

Hey, come on up to Quebec the drinking age there is 18!! And in a few other provinces....
I'd say start with a WIMPY american beer cause they're so watery and low in alcohol %... then switch over a real canadian beer.. like Keith's .. or Keith's light.. its brewed in Halifax (thats where I am)

Darlin, you're better off not trying any at all, but if you insist, start with the easy on the alcohol frog water drinks, mixed drinks to be specific.
There are lots of non alcoholic beers to try first so you can be sure if u even like the flavor.

Bud Light! That was my first beer I ever tried. But beer is an aquired taste for most people, so you may not like it the first time you try it. Get drunk and have fun!! Don't listen to people who say don't drink bc you're not 21 yet...I'm sure they did! Just don't drink and drive....seriously!
