Boiling an egg doesn’t need to be difficult. Just follow these four easy steps:
Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. The water level should be about an inch above the eggs.
Bring water to a boil; immediately turn off heat. (Don’t let the eggs continue to boil. Sulfur compounds in the yolk turn an ugly shade of green when eggs are exposed to high heat.)
Cover the pan; let eggs stand in the hot water for 14 minutes (small eggs) to 17 minutes (extra large eggs).
Drain eggs and cool in bowl of ice water. Refrigerate hard-boiled eggs for up to one week.

For large eggs: Place eggs in saucepan and cover them an inch with cool water. Put gas on high and when they start to boil, time them for 6 minutes. Turn off the gas and let sit for 10 minutes. Eggs will be perfect and not black around the edges. For extra large eggs, boil for 7 minutes.

For best results, you don't boil eggs. Cover them with cold water, bring to a boil, turn off heat, cover and let sit for 20-25 minutes. Perfect eggs!

Put eggs in pot with water an inch above the eggs. Bring the water to a boil and set the timer for 5 minutes. After the timer goes off turn off the burner and let the eggs sit for another five minutes then rinse in cool water. No fail hardboiled eggs. My uncle taught me this and I've used it for many years. Very simple.

The best way to do it is to let the water come to a full boil then put a lid on the pan and leave it covered for 20 min. After that it is done. Put some salt in the water too, that way the shells come off easier.

Place the amount of eggs you want to make in a pan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil, and when the water just boils, set a timer for 3 minutes. When the timer goes off, turn off the heat and set timer for 10 minutes. When that timer goes off, drain your eggs, and place them in ICE water to stop the cooking. They come out perfect every time.

Place eggs in pot, cover them with cool water add salt( to quicken the process) Bring water to a boil, then drop temperature on range to a simmer. Simmer eggs for 9 minutes. They will be perfect. Drain eggs and place them in ice water to shock the eggs, it will be easier to peel the eggs.
The eggs will be cooked after 9 minutes that's how you know they are done.

Cover eggs with cold water and bring to boil - boil them for 9 minutes then remove from heat and plunge them in cold water till they are cool enough to handle so you can peel them.
