Ringing in your ears can be caused by many things, one of which is damage to the eight cranial nerve, also known as the vestibulocochlear nerve. If this is the reason that your ears are ringing, there is no way to stop that. Sometimes, medications can cause ringing in the ears, especially aggressive antibiotics. If it is being caused by TMJ, I can't think of anything right off the top of my head that would relieve the ringing. Ear ringing caused by TMJ is related to that eight cranial nerve. If it rings when your TMJ is acting up, you are probably just going to have to deal with it. I know that does not sound to encouraging, but that is the best I have.

Great that you have a normal or lower BP, thanks for adding that, or it would have been in my answer. " Ringing in the ears is also known in the medical lingo as Tinnitis. Have you been swimming lately? It can be caused by inflammation of the eustacian tubes, caused by irritation from bacteria or even smoking or allergies Sinus infections can also play into this condition. Have you ever had your ears flushed? If it persists, after more than a week, see your doctor and ask for an ear lavage. Good luck!
*TMJ stands for Tempular Mandible Joint. its the corner of your jaw, by your ear. some people have problems such as TMJ syndrome from it either being arthritic, or misaligned.

you may have high blood pressure. have you checked lately?
if it never stops you'd better go to a doctor.
and if you have a new music system with headphones that could promote the problem. give your ears a break and keep the volume low if that is the case.

Only an ENT doctor can determine this after examining your ears, and having gone over your medical history. Layman views are moot, and will not do you any good.
