Hi!
l think what you need to do is not get in touch with her over this weekend, just this weekend.
Get your head together a bit, give her time to sort her head out with out hearing from you and see how you feel on Monday.
Monday u'll be back at work, u'll be kept a little busier and come Monday evening your head should should be a little clear.
You will not forget about her, and why should you, you love her, you know your in her thoughts to, all you 2 need to do is buy yourselves a bit of time.
So what if you don't hear from her for a few day's, it'd rather not hear from her for a few days and in a few weeks be able to see her then have the police come and take you away, then you really wont see her again!

I think that the age difference here does have an impact upon your relationship / ability to see this young woman being as she is in that 'twilight zone' between being a consenting sexual being ( 16 ) and not having reached the age of majority ( 18 ), all I really think you can do is wait on her, if she wants contact with you she will make it regardless of her mother, however until she is 18 her mother still has a say in her life however tenuous.

So all I can suggest is that you wait upon her and maybe reflect on the relationship and why it is her mother is objecting if there is more to it than the age difference.

Well she`s 17,still really young to be in a long term relationship with anyone know matter what their age.I`m not saying this to be nasty as i`m sure you`ve heard it all before but your old enough to be her father, but if she wants to be with you then she will be.I cant blame her mum ,not really as i`d do the same in her shoes, she probably thinks your just a dirty old man and i`m sure your not, have you tried speaking to her mum and letting her know how you feel??I think you should leave the girl alone for a while and let her sort her head and feelings out and like i said if she truly wants to be with you then she will no matter what any1 thinks or says.

You need to let the dust settle. Keep busy, let her get on with her life and see how you feel in a few days.

She is very young and has her whole life ahead of her. She obviously does not love you, or she would be defying her mother and coming to you.

LEAVE IT WELL ALONE. She is only just legal. How would you feel if that was YOUR daughter, just 17 with an OLD man?

Give the mother a break, she is just protecting her childs future.

You may love her but she is just a baby and no you should risk going to jail just to see her you need to look out for you. And the fact that she is 17 is wrong.

You do love her, but in the long run she's so young she can't even make decisions about if it's over or not. Therefore, call it a day, and let her grow up slowly in her own time.

why can you not find someone your own age?
As a mother with 2 children I can understand where her mother is coming from, there is no way I would let my 17yr old daughters see a 43 yr old man.
