It's all in the haircut really...and how you blowdry....always blow dry your hair upside down...as as for the cut, go with a person who's an expert in layering. Also, thick shampoos and conditioners will just weigh hair down even more...use something with light moisturizers instead. And if you pile on other products like sprays, gels, etc...again, you're just weighing your hair down. The less products you use, the better.

If you aren't highlighting or coloring try that first. Shampoos wash off so do conditioners. Highlighting and coloring ruff your hair up to make it look fuller. So, think about a string the more you play with it the more puffy its going to get because you are breaking down the fibers. Yes , your hair will be a bit damaged but you will have more volume cause your hair isn't so tight and healthy. Thats the best way (dont bleach it to death!! ) but thats the best way that isn't going to be washed off...

As a designer myself there are a few suggestions.
1. first have a consultation done with a stylist to discuss the problems your having
2. go over what kind of look it is you are wanting to achieve.
3. What about coloring? Color Ad's texture and the different tones will add depth and give it a thinker appearance.
4. A shorter style if you have long hair will help if you are instant on keeping it long then check into layers but be careful on how there done there are different techniques there too!
Good luck!

The hair stylist told my sister (who also has fine hair) to use Nixon which you can buy at the Salon because it is supposed to strengthen your hair to not break and has some kind of vitamins to help with growth of new hair. My sis really loves it and thinks that it is at least helping the hair she has not break off so much. On the flip side, I have really thick hair and you should be happy, especially in all this heat :)

The best bet is a mousse, applied at the roots makes it stand higher and look more full.

Layers! Not one long layer but several short layers to lighten the weight of your hair. Blow dry your hair upside down and spray it while you are upside down.
