I feel the same way, but ask yourself this:

If you had a teen, would you send him/her out in the fields to pick strawberries/cabbage/onions?

Some jobs will NOT be done by Americans. I do agree that some companies take advantage of that fact, and don't get me started on illegal immigration!!! But, truth remains... There are some jobs we will not do! No matter how much they pay us.

So, this begs the question: Are we an elitist society?

Why do you morons always blame it on the immigrants? If YOU legals didn't provide the illegals jobs and if YOUR government had taken care of these issues and not be corrupt as well, then these immigrants wouldn't have had a chance here, would they??So stop being ignorant and stop blaming these people. They go where ever there's a place for them to survive. Don't you think they would want to live in their home country rather then here where they face deportation, jail time, be without their families and where they have to work under terrible circumstances?? Don't you think that they wouldn't want to go home where they can be free, have an identity etc. if they could?

See the problem your country created for yourselves first, before you go ahead and act like morons.

There is a shortage of nurses, teachers and many other different jobs in the US. So why can't the Americans fill those jobs???? Why is the governement accepting Certified individuals from abroad if there are Americans screaming about immigrants taking their jobs??!! Because you are not qualified, you cannot do it..So it's not the fault of the immigrants.

Why is there the Visa Lottery every year when there are many immigrants already in the US??? Who is the moron????

I have several comments-
1. We need to put a halt to the companies hiring illegals- If the government made these companies pay a fee per day per illegal, and actually enforce it, I bet it would stop
2. We Americans have become lazy and complacent, We all want those fluff jobs without any hard work, and lots of pay with benefits
and we wonder why there is so many over weight people and health issues
I personally live on a ranch and my family and I do all our own work, if I ever have children you bet I will have them out there working too so they know what's it like
Everyone should talk to their grandparents and hear what the real world used to be like, when people actually worked and took care of their own, what a better world and what a wonderful lesson to teach our next generations, an actual work ethic

The notion that our economy will collapse without illegal immigrants is ridiculous. We will be much better off without the drain on our tax dollars for more police, border agents, fences, free health care, food stamps, welfare, in state college tuition, and other social services.

Fruit and vegetable prices may even decrease without illegal immigrants. For example many immigrants who entered the country legally should be willing to pick fruits and vegetables. Remember also that the U.S. had affordable fruits and vegetables in the past when there were no illegal immigrants. Other countries have affordable fruits and vegetables without illegal immigrants (Canada? Australia? Japan?). And farms could buy more machines to pick fruits and vegetables, substituting capital for labor.

Maybe there will be fewer nannies for rich people, and fewer beautifully manicured lawns. But have you been to the east coast? People's lawns there are larger but far less attractive than those in California because the homeowner does most of the work. So Californians go buy a lawn mower. Construction work pays well and is unionized so many Americans should be able to take the place of illegals in that industry.

We should send the illegals home by focusing on the easy targets (construction and farming), and at the same time increase quotas for legal Mexican immigrants. That way they get health checks and background checks and we have some control over who gets into our country. Send the massive amounts of unskilled work that China now gets from America to Mexico and Central America to create jobs and wealth there (why prop up a huge corrupt communist economy whose people hate us?). And we should encourage growers to move their farms to Mexico.

I think it goes without saying that illegal immigrants are usually willing to work for less than American citizens. But think about why: They cannot get higher-paying jobs where you have to have a SS card, license, credit history, mailing address, etc., because then they would be caught and (hopefully) deported. That leaves them with no other option in most cases but to do field work or "grunt" work that pays cash and doesn't require documentation.

That is the case where I live, a small town in Kentucky, illegals are working in tobacco and horse fields because they can get cash to send back to their home country without getting caught. If we were to legalize these immigrants like some political leaders have talked about, they would IMMEDIATELY raise their standards for work. Then they'd be eligible for any kind of job they want, and with Affirmative Action laws for citizens, they would soon start taking middle-wage jobs across America.

The problem is that many industries (ours here in Kentucky included) have started to rely on the cheap illegal labor to produce profit. The only way to permanently solve the problem is to eliminate the illegal labor, and force the industry to either raise their wages and their products' selling prices, or find more efficient ways of doing the work.

We can't keep catering to the DEMANDS of people who are exploiting our country. They may scream "racist" and "unfair", but think about it, if any other group of people (ie French or Russian) were doing the same thing, we wouldn't hesitate to say "Shut up and get out!"

Sadly, the greed of American businesses has become a serious problem for this country. They want the largest possible profit for minimum investment. There are very few products actually made in the US any more. They are manufactured in other countries where labor costs are low and then assembled here. 9 times out of 10, when you see a product that says "made in America", it should actually say "assembled in America". As for our oil companies, they only made a 14.7 billion dollar profit during the first quarter of this year. Don't you feel sorry for them?

AMEN!

Most Americans would rather pay a little more and not have to get soaked in taxes.....

It's also going to be nice when the illegals are deported, to go back to our "use to be lovely" downtown. Now, it's covered in trash and people sleeping all over the place....

Some of them are probably ready to do jobs we dont do for 2 dollars but... others will not.

(Takes hours of deep thoughts to reach this level of competency ... to answer your question properly. I´m so glad the sweating is over!).
