Well here in Ireland Statutory rape has been more or less outlawed as it could be the girl lied about her age, before we had a law which regardless of wether you knew or not, you did and were guilty as directed by the law, it was not allowed that a person could defend themselves, it was guilty before you went to court, as over here the drinking limit is 18 and alot of 17 yr olds dress up and look 20 and have ID to say they are same so it was a catch 22... If you knew she was 17 it is statutory if the age limit to have sex is 18, but some countries it is 16.

The simple fact that you can't grasp the difference between a 23/17 relationship and...say a 47/41 relationship is proof in and of itself that "said" 23 year old will continue to have sex with "said" 17 year old until one comes to their senses or "said" 17 year old's parents find out and "said" 23 year old is remorsing in jail.

Good luck!

Yep, in every state of the US and most countries, a person under the age of 17 is a minor. Having sex - even CONSENSUAL sex with a minor is against the statues. Hence the term STATUATORY RAPE.

Minimum sentence, 5 years.

Yes, the maturity level just isn't the same. 6 Years age difference at that age is different than say a 50 and a 56 year old.
