It is the age old thing where you tell one person in a group one thing, and let it go all the way around the room, and by the time it gets back to you it has changed. So unless someone has rewritten the bible word for word it has been changed. That is just my opinion.

Is this any different than all the ones who try to force change and challenge the believers to "prove" things? Think about it, Religions are based on FAITH, not fact! Facts can usually be proven or disproven. But faith comes from elsewhere. Somewhere either the challengers will never venture to, or are afraid to venture there for fear of being proven wrong.
I think the fear is the main reason. They may feel if they find out then they were doing wrong all their Life or they don't want rules to follow. But it's not as cut and dried as that. Everyone who follows a religion will find a fit for themselves. Some get really immersed in it while others just dip their toes in.
If you read the Bible you will see a passage that says "there needs be opposition in all things". So no light without dark, no cold without heat, etc. The fact that there are non-believers is part of the plan. They in fact strengthen our faith in a way. Without them constantly badgering us we would soon not have a reason to seek more truth. So thank you all who "Strengthen my faith"

Religions help people identify who they are and their place in the world, as well as their origins. Religion can do a lot of good for some people as it gives them faith and hope and love for their fellow people. The bible is an origin story for people of many religious faiths. Throughout human history most origin stories were passed down orally from generation to generation, which meant that the stories changed and evolved as the world did. Unfortunately, when an origin story is written down, it is taken as pure, undeniable, fact. It cannot, and will not be altered. A few religious fundamentalists ruin it for everybody. I do not follow any organised religion, but I respect most of those who do. I think that everybody should keep their beliefs to themselves, and not try to persuade others either way.
It does no good to insult people by ridiculing their beliefs, or by persuading them that they should follow yours. Faith should not be an excuse to harrass or harm others. That is not why we are here, and that is not what origin stories were meant to achieve.

Even with all the advances in astronomy over thousands of years, scientists will tell you we have only seen about 4% of what we believe the universe to be. How do we know it's there? We accept that it is because that is what scientists tell us. It's called faith.
When considering that a larger part of the bible's history has been documented and proven to have come to pass, why then is it so hard to have faith in it?
The beauty of the USA is you don't have to believe in anything. So, if you chose to believe there is no supreme being, that's fine. But, if you do, you better pray that you're correct.

1600 years to write, 40 different authors, all point to Jesus from cover to cover. Needs no defending, and just for the record, you were not forced to read this, neither are you ever forced to hear it.
