i would say that many times the harder something is to get, the more "worthy" it is...if it was easy, it would never be considered special. for example, why are diamonds the "ultimate" in jewels?? isn't it just a lump of coal that happened to form in that manner? but because they are rare, and hard to find, the more worth they have. and things we want, like a good husband or wife.. .why WOULDN'T we want to work harder for that?? i want to feel that i am worthy of someone so great, just as i need to work on myself so that i am worthy for someone else. just as marriage, i feel religion is the same...it's not going to be easy to achieve peace and spirituality, but once you do, it is worth ALL the jewels and riches in the world~~

things acquired too easily have less significance than things you have to work hard for. A perfect example is a free yoga class. Each class had a completely different set of students. Nobody would attend more than once. If you had to pay for the yoga class, you would come to each one, because paying for it made it more "important" to you.
The unwanted things coming to you are either from wishing incorrectly (God has a sense of humor, you know - look at Job), or from the Law of Unintended Consequenses, or from others wishing you ill. And sometimes the unwanted things ARE the things you want, just not in the way you want them.
Remember the old proverb: "Be careful what you wish for. For you may get it"

why do allot of people who have everything they could want end up less happy then when they didn't have that. Plus they seem to go into drugs and booze and have many marriages. Perhaps God knows what we need most and does have a plan for each of us. He is the potter we are the clay we just need t be less resistant to His shaping hands. we need to trust Him. there is a verse that says I must decrease so that He can increase.
Money and things may not be the problem as much as how we dwell on them and they become our life our god the most important thing in our life. God should be most important to us and what He wants for us, that might not be easy but more then likely the best and happiest.

Because here on earth the devil wants you to hurt. God wants to give you everything you want but he has to know where or not you truly love him. If you love him you are willing to wait until you get to heaven to get those things which will be even better there. God doesn't want a person who is impatient. He is very patient with people. I wish I had patience like that because I would of just ended the world a long time ago.

To get your reality as "you wish" requires that you work towards the goal, which can be hard. "Unwanted" things, are under the category of "life happens"...
It is impossible to control some events... they come with the territory of being alive.
Life can be like a "perfect" grass lawn, which comes at the price of hard work...compared to a lot filled with "unwanted" fast growing weeds...no maintenance, but not desirable.
