Can I delete a setup program after the main program is working?

For example, my antivirus program has a "setup" program. Is this setup program necessary after the main antivirus program is up and running?

You can delete the setup program.

However you have to consider:
1. Will I need to install this program again in the future? What if I reinstall my PC, would I still need this program?
2. There might be some features not installed and you might need to install them in the future. In this case, you still need the setup program. However, if you have installed all the features you need, you can delete the setup program.
