that, my friend, is the $1000000000000000 question!
when you figure that one out, let me know!
they think that you (as a Christian) should be perfect because they don't understand that you are not perfect, but forgiven. it makes no sense to them that you could be forgiven for being a sinner.. yet the Bible says that Jesus died for us (while we were still sinners) because he loved us. unless you are saved, I don't think it's understandable to them.

Why do some Christians seem to be experts on how homosexuals should act, what they should say, do, etc? Or on how Muslims should act, or Catholics or Buddhists or Hindus or ProChoicers or anyone else they are incapable of empathizing with? Maybe your answer lies in the question.

Also probably cause there parent instilled the fudamental values of life in them when they were young... which where spun off of the ten comandments

Imho, it is partly because Christians (including myself) many times use to "talk the talk" but do not really "walk the walk". So, non Christians are right on this (regardless their motives). All people and especially Christians should walk according to their talk. It is an elementary human obligation to the society and God is very serious on this and that's why He has given strict instructions on this in the Bible for those who call upon His name.

To Whom are you going to look for advise on the Christian lifestyle? And what other lifestyle is worth living? What has living in Satan's world gotten you? Do you think that natural living as opposed to supernatural living will earn you any points with God? Do you believe in God at all, or do you believe that when you die you are just dead in a box? If that's the case, then why try to live any sort of moral life? Why live at all? Jesus loves you.

Interesting point. I think some people here are obsessed with hating Christians.
Then again, some people feel some Christians are too quick to tell others how to live, and are hypocritical by not living up to the same standards they preach.

Do you really need to ask this question in our day and age? People's favorite past-time anymore is pointing out others flaws while ignoring their own! Anyone with a chip against Christians is really eager to read a few passages and go out to find one who isn't living up to those standards so they can run off and point out "hypocrisy". What they don't get is that NO ONE can live up to the standards of God. We continually fail Him but live with the knowledge that He will not fail us.

It's because of so many hypocrytic Christians. But also, their's pushy Christians who try to push their beliefs on non-Chrisitans, and their is people who arn't Christians who disrespect people who are Christians by making fun of them or telling them what they believe. That's like saying that black people do this and that, what the hell?? u kno, people are so ignorant, any religion or w/o religion. I'm Christian, Jesus was only telling the people who wanted to listen, check the bible, he never pushed things on anyone

Probably because they took the time to read the Bible, Concordances, History, other Books, thought it out, asked questions fro the Neo-Christians for clarification, and just got the typical Dobson/Falwell line about not questioning authority.

I'll bet I know as much, maybe more about your book and religion than you do. I was a Christian for 30 years and did 5 years of active research after I left. I've studied it extensively and my bet is so have a bunch of other Atheists, that's what we do, research, study, ponder.
