He's going through a phase, and so are his friends.
He's changing from a adolescent to a young man, and having conflicting emotions.
Also depending on how old you are, if you are very close in age, and developing into a young woman, his friends will see you and may be attracted to you, this may cause him to feel awkward toward you and your friend.
Give him time, he'll grow out of it.

I have a brother who is the exact same! Don't worry about it. It's a guy thing. ;) Annoying, and not sure why it's that way, but oh well. You just need to keep your distance in those moments. Or, if he's the easygoing type, try and firmly/nicely/gently talk to him. Although, if he's the preserved type, just let him be. Chances are, he'll probably grow out of it.
Hope this helped and good luck! :)

You have to put your foot down and let him know that he's being a classic jerk and either he has to love you all the time or leave you alone. Put it in his face. Let him know that he's being a follower and a wannabe. Ask him if his friends will think something is wrong with him if he has a good relationship with his sister and remind him that if any of them do have disfunctional families, he's an idiot if he thinks he needs to copy their mental problems. Slam him with some truth. Give him a reality check and don't accept the unfair relationship that he's trying to get you to fit into.

Your brother is going through a phase right now. He's bored so why not bother big sis, but when his friends are around he doesn' tknow you. Don't take it personal I was like that with my older sister and my brother was like that with me.
It's called life, enjoy while you can!

you have to come back even harder.for the next two weeks, when your parents are home act like the best sister (or brother) in the world,as soon as they leave act like you hate him.after two weeks, when you two are alone ask him how it made him feel to get treated like crap from you.tell him your sorry but,you don't like it when he does the same to you.

its a phase he will grow out of it, he needs his space with his friends, give it to him, he will appreciate that more than you being around when he needs space.

Take him over your lap with your big sister authority and spank him, then he'll show you respect.
