Christian, Jew, or Muslim has their own reason to believe in God. Some out their to feel secure, and some do it, because they are raised into the religion or some people can notice some thing in their life that happened that can't really be explained other than what is described in the Bible, The Tarah, or The Koran.

Well.....you have your opinion that is fine(well not really). but the only time people feel that people are being"pushy" with their religion is when they feel guilty. think about it. If you really feel what you think and do is right you wouldnt feel ....condemned. Its a scary thing...but in teh bible it says not too many people(there are some) who have power or think they are so 'with it" intelligence wise aren't gonna come to god. Now that Im think about it, others think about the word god ,from a natural point of view and think" I dont need to serve a god" someone that i have to say has more power over me than me...called a serious complex.lol. but will serve a human in a minute.

That is right, you choose to believe in nothing.
God gave us freewill.
You have chosen not to live your life with Christ so you will live eternity without him too.
You will be judged, and you will have to pay the price for your own sins.
That will be in the form of your soul burning in Hell.
Heaven is holy and not one sin can enter. And every sin has to be paid for.
Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross. His blood washes us clean of our sins. It is only through Him that we are allowed to enter into Heaven.
We do not PUSH anyone into anything. Christians are told in the Bible to go and tell people about Jesus. I do so in a factual manner. It is up to you to decided to accept Christ's gift of salvation or not.
The Bible is real. It is not just a story.
The link below is a book that was written by a atheist who went out specifically to discredit the bible. Needless to say he could not, and now he is a Christian. If you like to read, give this one a chance.
God bless you on your journey, I don't even think you know you are on one.
Write me anytime.

I'm a Christian. yes, some Christians do 'push' their faith on others. I think that it, while annoying at times, is harmless to you because you have already made your choice. But i understand your frustration, even as a Christian. it drives me nuts when i see those '1000 souls and counting' bumper stickers. But you have to understand too, that some denominations believe that to be saved you have to save others. terribly sad and not at all what the bible says, but there you have it. So, in short, i feel your pain because there are so many misguided Christians out there. but on the other hand, if there is no God and no Heaven, besides these Christians being pesky, what harm does it do you? Perhaps one day you will meet a Christian who can show you that we are not all about 'winning souls', but about the love of Christ because He died for our sins on the cross. believe it if you like, ignore it if you want. but I'm sorry to inform you that it isn't going away.

You believe in your right to believe nothing...isn't that a belief system? But, to answer your question, people who have a strong faith often feel the need (as you have here) in expressing themselves in a way that may FEEL like they're pushing their religion (belief) on others. However, you do have freewill...whether or not you believe that God gave it to you...to believe or not...in the idea of something greater than yourself. And, that's OK...:)

People feel the need to push their religon on others because some people can't accept that others may have a different perspective on things and believe in things that they don't. By pushing their religon they become closer to having that person think the same way they do.

Actually I agree with you Lola.
I felt the same way for years, and still do. Something did happen to make me start to believe that there is a loving force at work in the universe, but I am not realy comfortable calling it God because of all the bigoted nonsense that has been connected to the idea of God by religion.
I will tell you about my experence if you wan't to read about it. If not just know that I agree with you and think, and that you and your beliefs are just fine to me the way that they are. Please excuse the use of the word god in my story. It is a lot easier to use than typing loving fource at work in the universe all those times.
Several years ago I had an unusual experience concerning an uncle, a distant relative who lived over a thousand miles away.
While driving my car I suddenly felt the unmistakable presence of this relative that I hardly even knew. He was more like someone I had heard about than someone I knew. It was very strange; it felt as though I was momentarily lifted right out of my physical body. I seemed to be suspended somehow beyond space and time, bathed in a love so intense It felt like I could have just disappear into it at any moment if It would have let me. It only lasted for a few seconds, but it seemed to last forever at the same time. I realize how crazy this must sound. The experience was so strong that at first I was afraid I was loosing my grip on reality. I finally managed to chalk it up to an over active imagination.
Three days later I got a call from my aunt telling me that this uncle we are talking about had gone into a coma and died the day I had the experience. It felt like ice water had been poured down my back when she told me this. I had lost any real ideas of God or faith and had become somewhat of an atheist. Needless to say this experience caused me to rethink some of the conclusions I had come to.
I feel blessed to now understand that even in our darkest confusion something loves us so much that it went out of its way to assist me and bring me back to a state of absolute certainty about Gods love for us.
During the experience it seemed like there was a vast amount of information that I was somehow allowed access to. One thing that I came away from this experience understanding beyond any shadow of a doubt was that any Idea that God is unhappy with us or would judge or allow us to be punished for any reason is simply impossible.
I can’t explain the love I felt with words. They simply don’t make words big enough or complete enough to do this. The only way I can begin to convey this love to you is to say that there was simply nothing else there. Nothing but love. No hint of judgment, no displeasure of any sort. It is as though God sees us as being as perfect as we were the day we were created. It is only in our confused idea of ourselves that we seem to have changed.
I hope this is of some help to you. Good luck. Love and blessings.
Your brother don

technically you' re not an atheist. you worship something everyday whether its something simple like a TV or radio, that becomes your god. I'm a christian. and i do think its wrong that people shove their religion in others faces; it gives other christians a bad look because we want you to see the love of Christ and not hate us even more in the proccess. God gave us a choice. Im incredibly happy with God but thats me. if you ever want to talk; im here and i wont shove it in your face unless you ever want to know more.

Its called ILLITERACY, check it out the more educated you are the less religious you become
The only people who run religion have agendas like control and money
The people who follow 'religiously' usually come under the banner of uneducated illiterate lazy they have the need to follow and be told what to do - this is bcs they are incapable of taking life into their own hands

Some religions drill into their followers heads from a very young age that they HAVE to push their beliefs on others. It's ingrained, and it's sad that they've been so brainwashed.
Others, well you answered your own question. Insecurity.
