My best advice is to go with your gut. Feeling as you do, I'm not sure you'll enjoy your day with your friend very much. Postpone it until things "feel" better.

It is the job of your unconscious mind to relieve the stress of daily living by acting out sometimes bizarre scenarios during your r.e.m. (rapid eye movement) sleep. It has been proven that people deprived of dream sleep quickly begin to show signs of mental illness. So, even though your dream antics might be troubleing, they serve a very important purpose to your general well-being.

Having said that, there are many documented incidents of premonitions that occur in dreams, only to unfold later in real life. Is there a way to distinguish between symbolism and an actual premonition? I'd say yes, by simply applying a little logic. In your case, the reinactment of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is so unlikely, I would attribute this to the antics of a hyperactive psyche.

I wouldn't let if affect your day. I had a nightmare a couple weeks ago about going to New York with my boyfriend for my birthday. I dreampt that another plane crashed right where we were. After that I was so scared to go, but when I went, I had the best time ever. I wouldn't let it worry you. Dreams are just issues that you have in real life and you work through in your sleep.

I think you should go. But, before you leave your house you should pray for yourself and your friend. Sometimes the dreams are some part of what you are going to do today. Your conscience knows you are going somewhere the next day so your brain intends to image other things and smooshes it together and makes a story about what you are going to do the next day with a little more spice. In your case "scary spice"

I think dreams are a way of helping us deal with possibilites more than premonitions... perhaps the dream was just a way of working out some anxieties you have about the day. I don't think it is a reason to cancel.

Follow your gut feeling. If the dream was realistic and depicted something bad happening to you today you may want to change your plans.

Thats why you always "hear" about those things and never experience them... its crap! You will be just fine dont let a dream ruin you day. I really believe that you will be just fine if you go out and cary out your plans, although if you beleive in this and are going to be upset about it and really dont wanna go, then dont feel guilty everone has their own superstitions and its okay to beleive in them.

Go ahead and cancel the meeting with your friend. You are in no mood for it now anyway.

Need more details please. Maybe you can adjust your plans to skip the part of your day that would be like your dream. Just to be safe.
