Num 31: 14-18
Moses became angry with the officers of the army, the commanders of thousands and the commanders of hundreds, who had come from service in the war.
Moses said to them, 'have you allowed all the women to live? These women here, on Balaam's advice, made the Israelites act treacherously against the LORD in the affair of Peor, so that the plague came among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore, KILL every male among the LITTLE ONES, and KILL every woman who has known a man by sleeping with him. But all the young girls who have not known a man by sleeping with him, KEEP ALIVE for YOURSELVES.

God states I knew you in the past I formed you interior the womb this suggests you have been with God on account that He created your religious physique He knew that moses exchange into between the % who stood against devil for the period of his insurrection God knew this and He knew Moses exchange into dedicated to Him previous question He knew what moses' loose will determination exchange into going to be He had a activity for moses to do and alter into merely no longer keen to anticipate moses to come back around on his very own so He "inspired" him (in a maximum profound way) to get it completed now you have heard that God does issues in His very own time properly wager what for Moses it exchange into God's time He wasn't mean to Moses in any respect He merely held out the rod of correction and have been given it completed it quite is all it exchange into God's time merely positioned

The lesson was that the Israelites were in a covenant with God, meaning under contract. They were to exact exclusive devotion to Jehovah and because of imperfection, they failed. It wasnt so much that they were sleeping and having a great "fun" time with the enemy, it was the immorality. Immorality is also a form of Idolatry. People usually misunderstand idolatry and kiss the feet of a statue of Jesus and things... that idolatry. Any form of worship to an image or object. How is a human nation going to threaten god? It cant. Only his people, but he was to protect them, so long as they honored the covenant and remained faithful to him. Since they faltered every once in a while, punishment had to be given out as an example to the future generations. And here we are today, reading about how immorality can kill us. As it says below, not right now, but in the long run, when people think they are going to be "saved" or "raptured" or go to heaven. Only the annointed 144,000 go to heaven, that is the only number of humans that are chosen upon death to help Jesus run the heavenly government. That same government will replace the earthly governments after the war of armageddon. After that time they will be resurrected to live upon the earth again. Look in the back of your bible under paradise.
Read this about paradise on earth. Remember, the earth was already a paradise. Satan made Eve eat the forbidden fruit and sin against gods command and so on and so forth, so here we are today in this worldly crapstorm that keeps getting worse. But did you know that God still purposes for the earth to become a paradise again? Read this. http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2003/11/15/article_01.htm
Here is my translation, a little different, but a few word-changes in your text really changes the meaning..
Notice the substitution of gods real name for Lord.
14 And Moses grew indignant at the appointed men of the combat forces, the chiefs of the thousands and the chiefs of the hundreds who were coming in from the military expedition.
15 So Moses said to them: “Have YOU preserved alive every female?
16 Look! They are the ones who, by Ba´laam’s word, served to induce the sons of Israel to commit unfaithfulness toward Jehovah over the affair of Pe´or, so that the scourge came upon the assembly of Jehovah.
17 And now kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has had intercourse with man by lying with a male.
18 And preserve alive for yourselves all the little ones among the women who have not known the act of lying with a male.
---------------------------------
Another good point..
Initially, those who get involved in such immoral conduct may not be planning to do so. Perhaps that was also true of the Israelites on the Plains of Moab. To Israelite men who were weary of life in the wilderness, the Moabite and Midianite women who enticed them may at first have seemed friendly and hospitable. But what happened when the Israelites accepted invitations to fellowship with people who served Baal and not Jehovah, people who allowed their girls (even from prominent families) to have sexual relations with men that they had not married? When men from the camp of Israel began to view such associations as desirable, they were enticed to do things they knew were wrong, and this cost them their lives.—Numbers 22:1; 25:1-15; 31:16; Revelation 2:14.
--------------------------------------
And nobody raped virgins. They were to preserve the girls that did not participate, or were too young to. And keep them for themselves meant so they could grow up and later be able to be married off and continue the growth of the tribe, or tribes. Growth was really needed then.

what are you trying to say that events in the Bible are immoral?
you know what your absolutely right! But then again whats your point?
to those that believe that the Bible is the divine word of G-d a situation of G-d commanding mass murder is justified because after all he is G-d and has the ability to do what he deems right with his creation.
if you think the Bible is man made than this is a story that never happened and you should not even bother worrying about it.

Typical carpetbombing. He wanted to get rid of every person among the enemies that would hold a grudge -- the men who fought and lost, the women whose husbands were killed, the women who might bear a child fathered by one of the enemies. They only kept the young undefiled virgins for themselves because they would become allies of their new husbands.

i wonder where you are getting confused. the sexual immorality of the moabites and midianites had caused national tragedy before and moses and god didn't want that to happen again. in terms of acquisition of slaves and wives in war (which is elsewhere frowned on but not forbidden in the text) here, the warriors are told only those who have not yet shown that immoral side.
