I've heard illegals are taking all the jobs, but how can that be true when millions of hard working americans loose their job to outsourcing, besides there's not 250 million illegals here to do every job that every american is or once held.

Illegals aren't taking all the jobs. They take the jobs Americans don't wanna do. The ironic thing here is, even though they take the jobs American people don't wanna do (such as cleaning -houses, offices, kitchens, etc-), still you guys manage to blame them for your own unemployment.

Illegals WERE taking the jobs offered to them after Americans were permanently laid off due to outsourcing!! Where I worked they laid us off, didn't offer us a lesser paying job, which was open. They hired temps!! Some of which I found out could have been(no real proof) illegal immigrants.(They couldn't speak English, only Spanish!!) If they were illegal, I'm sure now, with the crackdown on hiring illegals, they have had to let them go (or they assisted them in getting documentation). Some of us who were laid off would have taken those jobs, but they didn't offer them to us. They would have still had to give us our benefits (insurance, 401K,eventual retirement, etc) Temps. don't get those benefits. Corporations want to keep that profit in THEIR pockets. Americans get pi$$ed on by outsourcing, hiring illegal immigrants, H-2B workers; and from the top, jobs
offered to the H1B employee and those with H-1B1visas. Our country is crapping on American workers at the bottom and the top!!

Illegals ARE a BIG part of the problem and they should not even be in this country to BE a problem!!

And they DO get hired by big corporations by using stolen or forged social security cards:

To a huge extent, illegals take the jobs that Americans would not accept; particularly at the wages that they are offered. Yes, outsourcing is a greater threat to those in the compete job market.

They're not referring to jobs that have been outsourced. They're referring to day labor jobs such as construction, landscaping, warehouse work, etc. And please spare me the arguement that "no one else wants these jobs", as that's an outright lie. My former (white) roommate had his own landscaping company. His brother has his own warehouse for the services he provides. Illegal aliens accept wages much lower than an american would accept with no possibility of workers compensation as they're "off the books". This allows the contractor to provide work at a rate much cheaper than companies that follow the rules while still lining his pockets, so the contractor ends up putting his legitimate competition under. If my boss and coworkers can come here legally and survive, so can they.

Illegals are not taking "all the jobs." I think people who say that are either ignorant or misinformed. Yes, there are unemployed people in the US and their are also illegal immigrants working. That doesn't necessarily mean the two are related. Many immigrants do jobs, such as migrant ag work, that most American unemployed people would not be willing to do. (the work is extremely physically difficult, temporary, and low paying) An unemployed secretary, IT person, mechanic, etc, are not going to be willing to take such a job; they are going to look for a job more commiserate with their skills and less arduous.

I never heard anyone say that illegals take ALL the jobs. Illegals take jobs. On top of outsourcing, which is not illegal, the problem has an even greater impact.

This is simply a big stir but in actuality, most companies don't hire illegals as they have no SS number. Most illegals have to depend on menial jobs where they are paid under the table...depriving both the government of due taxes and in most cases a decent living for themselves. They were led to believe that America was an end to their economic woes but find themselves little better off. In Florida farmers make use of them to reduce labor costs so that the farmers can compete with NAFTA...Mexico can produce vegetables cheaper than the US because of lower wages. It is a vicious cycle. Outsourcing is an American invention of big business and a boom to developing nations. Many items in the US are over-priced compared to the foreign markets, reducing both our export market and increasing our import demand. Sharon Steel of Sharon, Pennsylvania was greatly interested in buying steel from China because it was cheaper...and they are manufacturers. A Railroad Car company located in Greenville, PA moved much of its work to its own company in Ohio because of labor costs...that's also outsourcing but it hurts the region. When people fail to grasp the entire idea, they look for an easy scape-goat, and the illegals are handy. I am not defending the illegals and would prefer that they be sent home, but fixing blame on them is unfair...we have done this to ourselves.
However, please think about this, with the present mess in the Middle-east, is it possible the administration wants to focus on the illegal immigrants, not so much as the problems they present but as a means to force national ID cards on people, and abrogate rights as they did with Homeland Security. By making it seem vital to the integrity of the US, Congress would vote for ID cards, perhaps family books, and could then justify restriction of travel (you too could be a subversive) Think about that!

Mexico's only one small part of the problem. As jobs dry up, and revenue leaves our country either by foreign labor being imported or the job itself being exported, the net result is less revenue in our communities. Couple that with spendthrift debt spending, loanshark mortgage practices, and the other various and sundry forces at work preying on the american wallet, it's not a pretty picture. Don't take it personally, americans are just trying to defend themselves against the uglier parts of globalism...and yes, our slipshod border enforcement is part of the problem...

They are only doing the jobs that we americans won't do. I agree they should pay taxes to our country. Its a doggy dog world and we all just have to get along. Here in Texas you get fined alot of money if you have illegals working for you, they get arrested and then deported back to their country. the boarder should be protected more. The Government lets terriorists in why not illegals?
