"The Qur'an forbids a Muslim man to have sexual relations with a woman who is married to someone else, except for "those (captives) whom your right hands possess" (4:3). This is the Qur'anic term for a woman captured in warfare and kept as a slave. Thus there is nothing preventing a pious Muslim male from having a "sex slave."

Muslims, Is the above a correct interpretation from the Qur'an?

Please enough already in trying to make every religion the bad guy, let people believe what they want and let them be. Why do people need to be so judge mental and thinking that their religion is the only one. Give freedom to everyone on their own beliefs.

These are provisions and options available to the early Muslims as their rewards, see how generous God is.
As the duty of fighting the enemy now being taken over by the salaried army, these provision are no longer available.Anyway, the Muslims has been freeing the slave, male or female, ever since Prophet Muhammad time. That why you must read history.
Again,if you read the Quran alone and without having the proper context of the revelation,it is difficult to fully grasp the message.
And if you think you can have a sex slave today by being a Muslim, I am very much sorry, for you had mistaken.

Jessie, you make a very good point however in my opinion there are many more Muslims striving to live in an overly strict fundamental manner than there are Christians and Jews. Just read the current news of this world and this fact should be painfully evident. But you are right, the dysfunctions exists in all the texts.

Muhammad forbid muslims from calling them "slave" and he said call them my boy or my girl.
during war, it's forbidean to kill women and children or anyone came for peace. they cannot be put in jail, they cannot put in a seperate society, there is no social security benefits, and they cannot be killed. they were taking care by muslims in their own houses, those who have been captive during war were living with muslim family with their kids and family. and there are rules in Islam of how to treat them.
and Muhammad commanded muslims feed them from what you eat.

it's not like the slavery as how the west did it.

i am not saying it's right or wrong, because i need to live during their time so i can have more understanding. in some culture cosine marriage is sick, other culture it's normal. homosexual is sick, other culture it's fine.

I believe in ancient days people regarded women as inferior and treat like their cattle. Islam must have limited to four instead of more. Except the slaves.

Why would you assume everything in the Qur'an is followed when not everything in the Bible is followed? When was the last time you participated in a stoning of someone who disobeyed their mother or father?
