I completely agree that christianity is sexist and degrading, and that is why I left. I'm not too sure about weather being the wrath of God, though.

You know, in some instances you are right, however, that is not how it is meant to be. That comes from people who misinterpret God's word and twist them to mean something else. You can not just take a single verse from the Bible and interpret it alone. Just like reading anything else written, you must consider the surrounding context of the statement or the entire chapter or book. Man isn't superior to women, it is meant as Husband to take care of, provide and protect your wife - as a natural order of things. Wives to be submissive, doesn't mean jump when he says and ask how high - it is more of be supportive of your husband and encourage him and go with him where he would lead you, since he is taking care of you. Just like Christians follow Jesus and ask him to lead their life. They may not always know why something is happening, but they must trust in the Lord that he knows what he is doing and walk with him.
If they husband or wife takes this out of context, ie; husband demeaning wife or beating her, etc., then it is common sense, do not stay, as that husband is no longer following Christ with his actions, therefore, is no longer head of the house under Christ.
The way society is on earth, I'm not surprise that God is angry at everyone. Lets face it, the human race has really become a self serving, greedy population without thought for others. This is majority, but there are still some who are good and concerned for others.
All the disasters, well, its not like we haven't been warned. New Orleans was a sinful place, it really doesn't surprise me that that area got hit. I think it to be divine.
I agree that there are some people out there calling themselves Christian who are rude and mean. They aren't Christians though. Just because they call themselves that, doesn't make it so. I would say their actions speak louder than words. Look for those who are not mean, and you will find the difference.
You sound really angry, I am sorry to know that you are angry.

Women don't get it because it doesn't. Jesus accepted women as his disciples (that was the whole point of the story of Mary and Martha). To sit at Jesus' feet meant to be his disciple.
Jesus exalted women and I challenge you to find any other religion which holds women as high as Christianity.
The degrading comes from men who don't understand the teachings of the Bible concerning women.
They hear "Wives submit" and think that sounds pretty good and stop right there. What they don't hear is "Husbands love" and that they are to tret their wives as the finest of porcelain or crystal vases--valuable and to be cherished and protected.
The Lord will not tolerate spousal abuse, and the laws (despite the fact that they don't always help) that try to stop this kind of abuse come out of the Judeo-Christian ethic (in other words from the teachings of the Bible).
You are angry with the God, but the sins are those of men who will not follow God's teachings.

First of all I believe hurricanes are caused by nature....not any "angry God". Why did it hit the south (bible belt), because it's located on the coast. Heat waves?? How about global warming. Women degraded by Christianity?? Sure, but they also are in other religions as well (Islam, Judaism). And you can't blanket all of them, it's just some of the people associated with those faiths. Not all of them.............

God does not get angry at people and make global weather disasters. That is ridiculous. If you believe in the bible, you would see that after the great flood he promised not to do that again, and if you do not believe in the bible, why would you think God would/could do that?
Truly religious people love God and their fellow man. Do not judge all Christians, or Jews, or Muslims by the fanatic but vocal minorities that breed hatred and division. Most religious people of all religions are loving and accepting because they know that God loves all of us. Men and women and children. No one is degraded, and no one who loves God would degrade someone else.

I am of the belief that the majority of people are mean and ignorant. This is not just a Chrisitan or Bible belt thing, it's a sickness all over America.

I don't believe that men are superior to me. If anything my Christian religion teaches men to respect and honor women, if any man abuses his wife or kids he faces very serious chastisement from the church. One top leader of my church went so far to say that at the final judgment, the first question a man will be asked is "how did you treat your wife?"
I'm glad your concerned, but disrespect for women is by no means a religious phenomenon. women get beat, raped, cheated on, talked down to by plenty of non-religious guys, just think of the widely accepted secular practice of viewing pornography...are you going to tell me that's respectful to women?
Best wishes.

You read a lot of fairy tales, don't you? Try reading the Bible. Start in Genesis and go to Revelation and read all the wonderful things God says about women. Pay close attention to the Proverbs

And you believe that men are superior? Shame on you! Men and women were created equal. The bible says for women to submit to their husbands who are supposed to be Christ-like. If The man isn't behaving like Jesus, then he can go to hell. True christianity doesn't make one ignorant and mean. It turns them into wimps that don't care if you murder them to death because they say they're going to heaven. Just because someone is isn't a christian doesn't mean they're bad and just because you claim you are doesn't make you good.
