It could be either. Being the right girl doesn't mean you will settle down with her. What if you, as the girl, aren't ready. Happen to me. My guy was alittle older than i was and I was the right girl and we were the right couple but he was ready to settle down and I had just graduated high school and started college. He ended marrying before i got out of college. I'm not saying that the girl he married wasn't a good person. But all I had to do was call or somehow let him know where were i was and he was there. I know that later we talked about these things and remain very close after his divorce. So either way, its all about the guy and his clock.

Well first you have to imagine that a guy does not necessarily need a girl to settle down... as for stages in life... well I'm not too sure about that one...

Now commiting and settling down is a wrong association of idea... you can commit and not settle down or settle down and not commit...

So basically if you want to know what would make a guy settle down I would not be so sure as to be able to give you one good reason... now if YOU want to see YOUR man settle down and commit to you then the best thing is probably for YOU to give him the envy to do so... think about what he likes in life, what are his expectations and maybe you'll find out...

I think the girl has more to do with it than the timing. If you find the right person then everything fits into place and you feel happy to take the next stages.

When it is the right stage in his life. I think most guys are ready to settle down when they are in their thirties. They are stronger economically and much more mature.

i think it's when the guy finally realizes that he's found someone he can share all his feelings with .....like talk abt anything in the world and not feel judged !! , the stage when he no longer needs to impress hot babes or act all flirty or do outrageous things just to gain attention.....when he's finally found the woman he's comfortable being with in all aspects ....that's when he's ready to settle down and commit to marriage .

A little bit of both. Every guy I know, including my husband, have stated that they proposed because they knew the girl was the one they wanted to spend their life with. Some guys also know that they want to start a family, like with most girls.

It can be either or both.
Both is probably best.

I know someone (now dvorced) who had a plan..... get an education, get a good job, buy a house, get married, have children and live happily ever after.

It worked up to the happily ever after........ might have been the right time but it was the wrong girl.

Both things, if a guy doesn't want to commit, he doesn't. If he feels ready and if he thinks he's found the right person then he goes for it.
