Congratulations!! Your dog is normal. Since she is short haired you could use a horse grooming mitt. $1.50 through Equine Supply companies on line. They fit over your hand like a mitten, have massaging bumps all over and really remove hair neatly. Nice little mitt shaped pad of hair comes off easily for disposal. Dogs LOVE being groomed with them. And you can rub against the grain of dog's coat as well as with the fur.
I have a Golden Ret. who sheds three times as much after bathing him (once a month), try bathing her less???
Hugs to your pup from me.

I take my dog to the groomers once every 4-6 months just depends on when she trades her coats out. I have the groomers give her a shed bath. The few groomers I've been to use a product called the furminator. Between using special brushes, shampoos and their furmniator device the amount of fur my dog sheds is quite a bit less. I'm not the type to take my dog to get groomed every week or month. Basically for me it's whenever the season changes. Price maybe an issue but with the groomers I've been to a shed bath can be anywhere from $25 to $45 but if your not doing it every month it really isn't that much. I've found you mostly just need to do it when the dog changes their coats from summer to fall, fall to winter, winter to spring and so on.

First of all, please DO NOT bathe u'r dog once or twice a week. That is way too much. They have natural oils in there skin they need. Shedding is a natural process during certain times of the year. My German Sheppard is shedding really bad right now. If u feel it is excessive, u may want to contact u'r vet. There are some health issues that cause shedding. Stress can also cause excessive shedding. U'r dog may need a better brand of food. There are some products on the market that are supposed to help reduce shedding. U put it in there food. Try PETsMART. Also, it may be some type of allergy. Again, talk to u'r vet if u feel it is a real problem. At most, bathe u'r dog once a month. Even that's pushing it, put I do understand about the hair. Good Luck.

No sweat. There's probably no problem w/ ur dog. All dogs shed, due 2 the change of temperature. Of course I M not a pro, but even if ur dog has short hair like my dog, then unfortunately they will still shed. Srry, thats the way it goes. :-)

First don't bathe as often (once a month is quite enough) and use what is called a slicker brush. It's a stiff bristle brush which removes the loose hair. Beagles shed a lot just like Labs and other short hair dogs. When you use a slicker make sure not to push hard or you can hurt your dogs skin. Most slickers come pretty sharp and you can dull them by rubbing them briskly on the pavement. Food will also play a large roll in how much your dog sheds. Make sure she is on a high quality dog food with meat as the first ingredient and no meat by-products. Make sure there isn't corn listed among the top four ingredients. The easiest to get food that is high quality is Purina Pro Plan Select. Make sure you get the Select and not the regular Pro Plan.

If this problem has just come up recently, then it's probably because your dog is "blowing" its coat. Every so often dogs will get rid of either their summer or winter undercoat, causing the dog to shed.
If this has always been your problem then you need to realize that dogs shed. To minimize shedding you can get a special comb that is made to minimize shedding. A normal dog comb will work too.

There is no problem except for your carpet and sofa. Different breeds of dogs shed to different degrees. It is summer, if you're in America, and dogs continue to shed their winter coats until fall when it starts to thicken again. Brush her daily in an outside location.

it is natural for an animal to shed somewhat however, excessive amounts can be an indication of a problem.
Try getting a good brush and take out the underlying fur that would normally shed, this will eliminate the mess she is leaving around the house, also put a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in her food - 1 tblespoon per cup of food - ( dont put regular oil, it isnt good for him/her) every day. sometimes dry skin can have the same effect and cause the animals fur to fall out. when bathing dont use regular shampoo. always use one especially formulated for animals and get one that will help with dry skin. Even though the animal may not be showing signs of dry skin like digging or scratching, it still could be that way.
If you have tried all these rememdies and there is still a rpoblme, then it is time to go to the vet.

some breeds of dogs shed more then others.
you need to groom it every day if it is that bad, to get rid of the lose hair.
if it just started all of the sudden get it checked for skin problems.
