I've been divorced 3 yrs and am recovering from a stroke I had during my divorce. When ever I mention this to women, they become distant. Do they think I'm on the rebound and want them to enter in to any kind of commitment? Why isn't it possible to just say Hi once in a while?

I would imagine they could be thinking that your looking for someone to take care of you. Besides coming out of a divorce there is the stroke to think about. Life and relationships are hard enough without adding in additional things. Cant you understand why a women might not want to get involved with someone who is going through what your going through ? You might want to give them a chance to get to know you before you tell them all of this.

you may be getting a bit too intense too soon. health problems and history is something you should keep to yourself until you've been together a few months. a guy having a stroke would scare me to be honest. it's like you're using the date to dump your emotional baggage. keep to positive stuff til you get to know someone. I know you're scared of rejection but you are setting it up to happen

Information overload. Slow down with the Info. Cement the relationship first, get to be good friends before the heart to heart revelations.

Try not to give out too much information about yourself too quickly, let others get to know you slowly at first
