Why do mathmeticians, scientists, and history teachers seem to think that they are right when they talk about the things they've studied and believe to be true? They've looked at the evidence and reached a conclusion, and they have facts to back it up. A mathmetician can't accept someone's belief that 2+2=5, because he believes that 2+2=4 and there's no changing it. A history teacher believes that George Washington was our first President, and anyone who says he wasn't is wrong. Are these people arrogant? No, they just believe that the truth is on their side. The fact is, truth is truth. Either there is a God or there isn't. Either what we believe is right or it's wrong. There's no in-between. God can't exist for some people and not exist for others--either He's real or He isn't. Logic tells us that if something is true, everything that contradicts it is false. It's not arrogant to believe that other people are wrong, if you honestly believe that the truth is on your side. I think it's cowardly and wrong to say, "I believe with all my heart that the Bible is true, but if you say the Bible isn't true maybe you're right, too." We can't both be right--that's impossible! The right response, in my opinion, is to listen to other people's opinions, respect them, and speak with tactfulness. I'm interested in what other people have to say, and I don't have to be mean when I share my views. I believe the Bible is true. Therefore, logically, I believe that anyone who says the Bible is not true is wrong. If someone is interested, I'll take the time to share with them why I have come to that conclusion, through scientific study, archaeological research, study of historic documents, and personal experience. If they're not interested, I'll leave them alone. I respect people of other religions, but I don't believe that they are right. If I thought they were also right, that proves I don't really believe what I believe. I am confident that the Bible is true, and the more I study it, the more I am assured of its truth. If you want to learn more about evidence for the Bible, try Norman Geisler's book "I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist," or Josh McDowell's "Evidence that Demands a Verdict."

it is not any longer merely Christians yet any zealot faith. yet i will admit that the Christians do look intense up there in audacity. even if, i have under no circumstances been uncovered to everyone except Christians or atheists so there you bypass. i imagine it is merely the nature of guy to insist that he's better than everyone else. imagine of it like those who continually brag about the coolest deal they were given for his or her vehicle or some massive rebate they were on condition that you probably did not, and so on... also those those who insist that they are better than everyone else are commonly the most self wide wide awake that they are somewhat no longer and are merely attempting to strengthen their own conception equipment. And to my ideas it is the folk who do not espouse something about their own beliefs are those who're somewhat onto something. they do no longer ought to carry forth, call for, or convert. They recognize that their own religious beliefs are deeply own and except some different person feels that interior of each and each and every of the i'm rights and also you're wrongs in the international gained't do extremely sturdy. a lifeless ringer for democracy gained't artwork in each and every united states of america one faith can't serve everyone interior of an identical way. So besides the reality that you've faith or do not trust, cool dude, rock on...

There is no perfect answer or one answer but I will give u a few ideas that might apply from one person to another:
(1) family brainwashing in childhood.
(2) magical thinking; i.e. if I pray to jesus he will heal me.
(3) wanting to be part of a club that is special.
(4) wanting to associate with others who will be business associates or otherwise help them advance.
(5) wanting to be something special when they are actually just like everybody else, an average person.
(6) psycholigical problems, such as delusions, auditory hallucinations etc which cause them to believe they have been visited by the holy ghost who tells them what to do.
(7) the clean feeling of pretending god will cleanse you of all your imperfections after u confess them.

I suspect that every person who has ever died has found out for certain whether there's a God or not.
I can't prove that YOU exist just by sitting at my keyboard. But if I take the necessary measures and educate myself with some facts, I can prove you DO exist.
Why is God any different?

While I do believe there is one most true religion, I don't think everyone else is utterly wrong. I look around at a lot of other religions, philosiphies, ways of thinking, and I see a lot of truth out there from lots of different sources. I think when were not open minded enough to find truth in other ways of thinking, we deny ourselves a lot of personal growth.
Best wishes

There is nothing quite so self ego boosting than to believe you have a monopoly on the truth. The fact that this "truth" is totally derived from myth and superstition makes little difference to delusional religionists.

Why are you on Religion and Spirituality if you say you do not believe in it? Or maybe you know deep in your heart that there is a God.
