Hi there...
For me, it is not a big deal. Whether I spoke to the atheist or the child , or whenever the crazy one. As long as what do they spoken in is the truth. I will received happily. But, as the mature, we have to know about the truth and the mistake. So that we can filter what so the people say.
Eventough I speak with the ;Ultimate Proffesor', but if they speak nonsene, It just the same. I will put their word in the rubbish-bin..
Live in peace.

Nothing?
Your question is rather vauge. It's pretty much on the same level as "What would you do if you have spoken to a person and then you realize that they were a fan of Nascar Racing?". It's kind of pointless and doesn't really ask anything specific.

Probably the same thing you'd do if you talked to a christian, a jew, a moslem, a buddhist, a hindu, or a pagan. Go on about your day as you normally would. Talking to an atheist won't contaminate you. After all, you're reading the works of one now.

Why should you treat that person any differently? Respect that he or she has ideas and beliefs that may not jive with your own. That's the way of the world. Share your thoughts, if you feel so inclined, but try not to preach. No one likes that. It's insulting. But be yourself, share your ideas, and listen to his or her responses as respectfully as you'd like any person to listen to yours.
There's a reason the Golden Rule (ethic of reciprocity) has been respected by so many different civilizations throughout history. It works.

I'd probably get into a discussion with them about why they were atheist (because they would likely have many of the same reasons that I did when I was atheist).
Knowledge is never harmful.

Keep talking. I encountered this in college. A guy I went to high school with sat in front of me in one of my Algebra classes. He had dated this girl all through high school, and he told me that they broke up over the summer. I said "sorry" and he said that what really bothered him was that she is now dating a preacher, and my friend is an athiest. I still talk to him like I always have. No different. Although, I am more aware of some things.

I think it would be best to run to the emergency eye care centre, wash out your eyes (and your mouth just in case), drop down on your knees and beg forgiveness from the Lord, then telephone 911 and Homeland Security and have that evil atheist exported to wherever he came from...

Are we atheists scary?
We just don't believe in magic beings that grant our wishes when we ask for them while on our knees begging. We don't take people captive and torture them into our system of beliefs.
