The question of love is unconditional. Of course I would continue to love my child, no matter what the choice they made was. As for the situation of a son believing himself to be a girl inside, my advise would be to find out why. Before any reassignment surgery should be started therapy should be done. No I do not mean the kind of therapy that tells him he is bad for believing this way or having those feelings, but more the therapy to make sure the son truly wishes to be a female. Then, if he truly wishes to be I would even be willing to relocate so that they could begin their life anew, as a female. So they could start fresh, dressing and acting like the opposite sex without the worry of someone who knows the truth outing them. This would give them the best chance to decide before undergoing drastic surgery if this is what they really wanted.

Just my 2 cents worth

I would like to say that if my son ( who is only 5 now) decided later that he didn't feel as if he was meant to be a male that I would support him. When the time comes I may react differently, but I know that even if I was upset or hurt by anything he did I would still love him more than anything in this world.

Of course I would. The outside of her body wouldn't really matter that much to me. I would love her just exactly the same. By the way, if a person is born looking like a boy, but feel that they are a girl, it is more polite to refer to that person as 'she' even pre-surgery. Everyone deserves to be cherished and respected for who they are. I wouldn't love them any less if there was something made wrong about their eyes and they needed glasses, why would I love them any less if the error was a little farther south.

I'd love him no matter what. Now help? Financially? I don't understand elective surgeries. There is nothing I want to change or know about myself enough to let anyone cut on me ever again. So I'd have to say no, not that I could afford it anyway. I'd support his decision through love and understanding, which is most important anyway.

Well that's a though question, sure my love for him won't change, but it would be so difficult to assimilate that choice.

I' ll try to find out if there 's psychological or hormonal... I imagine that life for a boy who inside feels like a girl is not easy... and that would worry me a lot.

I would embrace my child no matter what he or she was. Everyone is unique and noone should feel unloved for any reason. I would encourage everyone to be who they really are deep down inside. And if a change is what was best and most desired then I would support that child in anyway that I could.

would you love him? a mother always loves her child..it should be the only unconditional love a person should get...besides loving or not loving is not going to change anything.
love and support him/her...life is tough enough w/o love, esp. in that situation.
