A friend of mine called me and I didn't make it to the phone - I thought he hung up before I could answer. But the phone actually picked up his call - he could hear me talking and my dog barking, even though I never pressed the speak button.

We spilt blackcurrant on our phone at home once.

The next day at work we kept getting prank calls where someone would phone and not say anything. This happened all night and we reported it to the phone company as it was tying up our line.

Turns out when I got home that the phone kept 'last number redialling' itself due to the blackcurrant spillage into the phone. How embarrassing!

So yeah, your phone probably could answer itself!

Search your options on the phone, it sounds as though you have accidentally set it to auto answer, you should be able to find it on the menus and turn it off.
