You throw so much on the table it is hard to stomach the meal
First of all--everyone has a value system--everyone
Our evaluation systems do not in any way equate to God's
I have a gold cross FOR my chain and do wear it occassionally
It is MY preference when I do so--I could choose to wear one of platinum if I so desired ---or even one encrusted with diamonds--and YES---I do place more value on gold than on many other materials---and I DO devalue alot of other things--because in the real world alot of other things DO HAVE LESS VALUE THAN GOLD---I don't know how it is is YOUR world---seems you're living in some kind of vacuum if you don't judge values fairly close to their real world placements-----and----GOD created it all and it would have to be GOD to give you His read on things---not any of us---the same with what he likes or dislikes---to know the mind of God is beyond human capabilities and to even assume to ---is a step too far
As an added footnote here---I'll simply say---that the gold cross is a strong personal reminder to me---of what a solid gold thing it was for the savior to step up to his own death for ME---the cross being the symbol of his sacrifice not of his death in mudane terms of death because that enemy was defeated with his reserection-----all of this is MY personal choice and preference--not God's----I don't make choices or declare preferences for God

No, I do not wear a cross no matter what the metal is... I believe it to be a modern day form of idolatry worship.
Most people don't even know that the cross was a pagan symbol used in Rome and that Emperor Constatine made it mainstream. Jesus didn't die on the cross... it was a wooden pole. Do you think they would really take the time to nail together huge pieces of wood for robbers and theives' execution (I am not saying Jesus was... just that they put him to death with this type of people)?
Nope... people are terribly mislead. We believe what is passed down to us. Much like before there were written words in books to pass knowledge, everyone told stories. The cross is such.
Check out the link below... question what you know... don't just accept it because your preacher or because everyone else told you it is so!

No. I don't have a gold cross on my chain. Neither do I have a chain.
Yes, I think that's the way God likes it. He didn't say that He liked gold idols. He said that He liked faith.

My gold cross is bigger than anyone elses'.
It's 3 feet tall.
It proves, when I wear it that I'm a better christian than those with 3" crosses.
It also makes it easier for me to publicly display my personal holiness. I know Jesus said that this is a sin, but it's more important to me to act self-righteous and also to force my faith on others every chance I get.
Oh, and it's platinum, not cheap gold. Jesus loves displays of wealth in his name.
(of course, this post is 100% satirical. I'm not dumb enough to be a bible-thumper)

I do not need to have a religous article on my body in in my house. It is a symbol of Christianty and God knows where my heart is.
Look at the churchs as well they have carnivals that gamble and sell things. Jesus was upset and over turned tables at the Temple that did that. We ok a lot of things today but think it is alright.

just a chain, but in sense i see something else in your statement, we are concerned with fashion,
with looking good that we forget about the true reason we are in this...a wooden cross would always remind of us of where we come from and why we are serving God!

Nope...Have a Jade Dragon that the wife gave me. No stars, crosses, other religious symbols. Of course it could be argued that my Jade Dragon represents Shao Lin, but for me it's just a symbol of my virility and that my wife loves me. PEACE!

The cross spooks me because I don't think that is the way Jesus would want to be remembered.
People are overly fascinated with death - I think because we don't totally understand it.
