As it has been stated, only he con truly know for sure, because only he was there. But at the same time, do Christians really go to Heaven, because nobody knows for sure. I believe he did find Nirvana, and I believe that anyone can, with several eons of practice and dedication. And yes he left his family behind, because he realized that attachment would only lead to further suffering. And did his family suffer? Of course. Did he? I am certain he did. But if he had stayed would he have continued to suffer without finding Nirvana? Absolutely. I cannot explain Buddhism here, I don't have the space nor the years of practice and study that it would take to do so. I can recommend that you do some research on your own. There are many wonderful books about Buddhism by such teachers as Thcih Nhat Hanh and His Holiness the Dalai Lama that may be able to answer your questions.

Buddha left his family, ran away from responsibility and is unemployed. He begged and lived a life of the homeless that you find in India or America. Care free. Nirvana is heaven, you can never find it on earth.

I cannot believe in a man who achieved nirvana by deserting his wife and family.

When did GOD say you had to desert your own to start a religious enlightenment and movement? And budhhism did try to eradicate hinduism? Is that not a human rights violation?

Why is every religion trying to eradicate hinduism?

sometimes our eyes can be so cynical we dont see the most conspicuous of things...

seldom has the world seen a flame shine so bright...

I dont care what nirvana is...i dont care if Budha achieved it...

but he did touch millions of lives and his vibes will resonate in time for eternity...

No one can say for sure what he found and it doesn't really matter. Like he was stated as saying, don't believe him on what he found, see for yourself if what he says is true or not. I'm not a Buddhist but his recorded words(if they were really his words) have something otherworldly about them. Something beyond the mind. He laid out an eightfold plan to achieve what he found, unfortunately---like Jesus---a religion was formed after he died. Something jesus and buddha would laugh at if they saw it.

As the Buddha was dying,
Ananda asked
who would be their teacher after death.
He replied to his disciple…

"Be lamps unto yourselves.
Be refuges unto yourselves.
Take yourself no external refuge.
Hold fast to the truth as a lamp.
Hold fast to the truth as a refuge.
Look not for a refuge in anyone besides yourselves.
And those, Ananda, who either now or after I am dead,
Shall be a lamp unto themselves,
Shall betake themselves as no external refuge,
But holding fast to the truth as their lamp,
Holding fast to the truth as their refuge,
Shall not look for refuge to anyone else besides themselves,
It is they who shall reach to the very topmost height;
But they must be anxious to learn."

Well, starving yourself for days on end might make you see things and feel enlightened too.
