It is very tacky, but this sort of seaside resort is part of Britains heritage. In the 1930's when paid holiday first came into existence it was a really big deal to get a week by the sea - we tend to forget that now we can jet off round the globe anywhere for a few quid!

If you do go make the most of the experience and do all the traditional stuff - visit the tower, send a saucy postcard, buy some rock, eat freshly cooked donuts, paddle in the sea and go on the pier.

A lot of us look down on this sort of experience now we holiday in Tuscany etc, but secretly many of those same people still love it! 8-)

Me and the lads used to go every year, And had a quality time it is trashy but you are there for that, Boozy northern girls and scally lads, But they all know how to have a good time. No snotty, Arrogant people, Just good old fasioned booze ups. Go in the hauted house all the lads they that won't scare me trust me, they run out striaght in to a pub full of people laughing at them for screming! Good laugh if you go with the right atitude!

On the trash scale of 1 - 10, I would say it rates about 9.5. If you like the very worst of English seaside resorts, i.e. amusement arcades, noisy, smoky pubs full of pissheads, fairground rides, fish & chip shops and all day English breakfasts etc etc then it's the place for you..

If you dont like all of the above, steer clear

Good time in Blackpool? Oh yes there's no finer. Lager, girlies, chips. The biz! Weather is usually crap though.

Its great. Completely trashy I probably wouldn't go for more than a long weekend or so, but it is excellent and you will have a brilliant time.

Too commercialised and very tacky, but if your going for a boozy time you'll love it.
