this is the problem with americans today.....the key here is to realize how to appreciate food and what role it plays in your daily life....is a second serving too much?...it depends on what it is and how big your first serving was...remember that you need to eat to live not live to eat

I think it depends. I think people need to be responsible when it comes to their health, and if you are overweight, inactive, and unhealthy, then more than one serving may not be the best choice, most definitely not to have more than one serving every meal every day. If you do that once in a while, it shouldn't hurt. Also, if you are very active, then I don't see the problem in it.
It is totally dependent on the particular person who wishes to have another helping.
If you are full, and you see there is food left, and you desire it more than wanting to share it, and you obsess after it, then you are totally gluttonous, and I'd say that sounds pretty unhealthy... or sinful, if you wish to call it that.

being gluttonous is being full, but still eating more. its taking more that what you need. so if you need 2 plates to fill you up, theres nothing wrong with that.
being gluttonous is if you have 5 servings of food, when in all reality you were full at 4 plates.
hope i helped!

Once you are full, stop eating. If you're no longer hungry, you've had enough. Having seconds is fine because portions can vary in size. Eating three slices of pizza in one sitting is no different from getting up to get another slice after you finish the previous one.

"All things in moderation" is a good rule to think of.
Judging by the appearance of some of the preachers that I see on TV shows, they would likely not be the slightest concerned with this "sin".
