I know that there is some metabolism discorders involved and more so fat person need to restrain from sugar and need to work harder to get some exercise.
Why can't they do it???????
And I mean exercise, not throwing up ,starving and looking like a skeleton instead of a big sack of fat. Why there are two extremes and not just normal healthy individual..

Simply because north americans over-consume. Those with a fast metabolism are more safe from this eating habit, but those who don't have one, are the unfortunate ones. According to studies, North Americans form 20% of the world's population yet consume 80% of its resources. Our fast food portions get bigger, our snacks get fattier, and no one's really bothering to take notice of the differences. If we all took a good look at that health chart which states how much of each food group you need to consume, you'd see the biggest over-consumption is in the dairy and the meat categories. Both of which contain the most fats. Fruits are dangerously low. TV, the internet, and other media forms are also encouraging a lack of physical activity. Put all these factors together and you'll see that it's quite hard for someone who is "fat" to lose weight. My best recommendation would be to move them to the northern European countries. They'd be sure to start losing weight then. The food portions there are still reasonable as opposed to here. I'd say for "fat" people in north America to even begin losing a good amount of weight, there'd have to be a 4-month blackout for the whole continent. That way everyone would HAVE to start being more active and eating less.

Wow!! This is a very complicated topic. The US society is full of excess. There is a caloric supply that is simply too much. And everything has been made too easy for people nowadays. So, since a lot of people choose the easy things (fast food for example, or the remote control), that affects their health. Think about how things would be if people didn't eat fast food. What if they had to stand up and walk to change the channell or pay a visit when they want to talk to a friend? So, now excercising is something that is not a natural part of your lifestyle, but you need to take steps towards it. And let's face it, too many people are lazy (got too comfortable with the new lifestyle that progress and technology has given them), so they won't take steps to exercise.
Also, there are too many processed foods in the US. In other parts of the world this is not so. That's why many people who come to the US from other countries and keep mostly the same diet they use to have in their home countries end up gaining lots of weight. Why if they're eating practically the same? Because of all the stuff that they put in the processed food. Think about what percentage of your daily food comes from a can, not directly from nature.
On the other hand, there is the other extreme. Fashion industry has idealized body types that are more and more skinny every time. And marketing, TV, movies and such brainwash people as to be like the model that they set. So many people with little personality will try to be like that model, and go to extremes to become like that.
I guess "progress" in the most progressive country in the world has also its large dark side.

Everyone wants a miracle pill to make them look like a model. They don't want to put in the work and lifestyle changes it takes to actually lose weight and keep it off. Secondly another thing that seems to be a problem is all the diets out there that tell people to starve themselves. This is possibly the worst thing you can do when trying to lose weight. When you eat far less calories a day that you actually need your body will try to adapt by slowing down its metabolism, and burning muscle tissue for energy. so what happens is you may drop a couple pounds in the first couple weeks, but when your body finally adapts and slows down its metabolism you stop losing weight. however what happens next is most people get discouraged because there not losing weight any more. so they quit their diet. however, since their metabolisms is greatly slowed down due to them starving them selves and reduced muscle mass, they almost immediately gain all the weight they lost and even gain more. The best way to lose weight is to actually learn how the body's metabolism works. and then construct your own diet based on what you know. not to follow some silly fad diet.

Yes, I think you have an excellent point. In the US about 70% of people are overweight or obese, 10% are underweight and only about 20% of people are of a normal weight. I think it is the type of lifestyle they have adapted to, because of all the fast food available and overly large portions, also the fact people are exercising less due to computers and the internet being so popular. But it is really up to the indiviual to take responsibility for themselves, to limit their food intake to a reasonable amount and also to make a conscious effort to be more active. I also understand that many overweight and obese people use food as a comfort, due to stress or depression. People need to find other outlets and ways to enjoy life that don't turning to food. People need to start seeing food as fuel for the body, rather than a luxury.

Because we're too comfortable, too convenient, and too spoil.
Look at those third countries....people work so hard, eat very little, some have nothing to eat. Some only have a couple of pants and shirts or t-shirts that last for years... They walk to work or ride a bike. No snack in between meals (if they lucky enough to have a meal). They don't have fast food or fat food every where. They conserved, they recycled for ages, yet they still have not enough to eat. They don't even know the meaning of "Diet", Exercises".....etc

In my personal opinion a lot of it has to do with the fact that it is cheaper and easier to eat unhealthy. By cheaper I mean, people that are low income tend to buy the cheaper foods while grocery shopping, the Ramen noodles and the pastas and the fish sticks and french fries. Healthy, low-fat, low-carb, fruits and veggies tend to cost more. I know in my area a lot of people are living under the poverty level, the jobs around here don't pay well. Also lower income people can't afford gym memberships and might not feel safe walking their neighborhoods for exercise. It just costs more to live a healthy life style...but that's just my opinion.

Because people are not happy! That is the real reason. They eat away at their problems and fast food is a bad source. Nowadays we have everything at the tip of our fingers. We can order food online order clothes ect. It called laziness and the people who do have a FAT disorder are less than 5%. Most LARGE people use that as their excuse but really they just sit around and are lazy. There has always been obese people but not like it is today. It's society as a whole. No other country in the world has weight problems like the US. Its poor dieting and remember this! LAZINESS!

the richer any country is per capita the higher the obesity rate because people can afford to lie around instead of working 14-16 hours everyday. the fattest country in the world demonstrates this perfectly. there is an island country out in the pacific ocean. the native inhabitants there were all perfectly fit until they discovered huge deposits of bat guano, now because of the sales of bat guano from the island every single person on the island is now considered rich. I forget the exact numbers but there is an obesity rate on that island between 70% and 95 %. all of those islanders can afford to lie around at their fancy homes and do basically no work and so they are fat.

Why can't rude people keep their stupid comments to themselves?

I know that sometimes its hard to keep your mouth from spitting out a bunch of garbage. Why can't they learn how?

And I mean try, don't say it under your breath or type it on a website and looking like an idiot instead of an asshole. "why there are two extremes and not just normal healthy individual".

Why in the world does it bother you so much? If Americans being fat is bothering you so much don't look at them.

Here is my guess,
Due to a love of certain type of food, a young person becomes over weight.
After a while when people (or parents) finally notice the increase in weight, restrict him to a more healthier diet.
At this point his taste bugs and eating habit is a bit off. It is difficult for him to get off the fatty foods, he is hooked, everybody keeps making his weight an issue, people calling him names, he become depress, he eats more of everything.

Obese people I know now, were obese as a child. I do not know anyone that became obese when they were an adult. They my be a little over weight, but they can lose that with exercise.

Anyway, my guess is, at an early age, bad habit, altered taste bugs, depression.
And most of all people like me making assumptions that makes them mad.
