Never ask a woman by proxy. Girls like men who are direct. But do you ever talk to her? Does she know who you are?
If you've never talked your first step is get some dialogue going with her. How she reacts to you over a period of time will tell you if she's interested. Even if she isn't, you can always ask her out anyway. She may fool you.

If you think she is the romantic type, she could enjoy a flower, some candies or an original piece of poetry, of course, if delivered in the proper way!
If you think she is one of the popular girls, hum..., a bit difficult..., think of inviting her to a concert or ... just say:
Do you believe in love at first sight, or should I pass again?
In a word stop being invisible to her... if you don't have the courage, maybe she will have it.
