You dont have to worry about it cause your not married and if He wants to call you first, rather than his family, thats ok. He just misses you alot and the love in this relationship is a different love than with his family, obviously. Its naturall for couples to do this. This verse doesnt apply to you or him. He wants to talk to you first cause he is in love with you were as he just loves his family.

Wife only. Back when this passage was written, they didn't do the boyfriend/girlfriend thing. They picked (or parents picked) the mate. The family would throw a big celebration and the pair got married.
Only the relationship with the wife is stronger than the relationship with the parents. Both are life long. A guy can have a new girl frient every week. Only when he chooses that one that he will spend his life with is the to cleave to....and thus leaving the mother and father.

I wouldn't say that particular Biblical passage refers to your situation at all...but I'm glad you clarified the question!
Not knowing how serious your relationship with him is, I would, as a general rule, say that If his calls are making you uncomfortable (because he calls you before his family) , you should ask him as soon as he calls whether he's called his family yet... if he hasn't, tell him to call you back after he's spoken with them.
If he says yes, he's called them, and you later find out that he didn't, he needs to explain why he thought it was ok to lie to you
If you were his wife, it would obviously be different. But he should not be placing so much discomfort on you by going against your wishes like that.
Calling you before his family might not only create resentment in you, it could also create resentment in his family.
He should respect your wishes in this matter. That's not too much to ask.
On another note, next time you talk to him, be sure to thank him from all of us for defending our country, our freedom, and our way of life.

does it say girlfriend? If you are that concerned about the Bible why are you living with a girl outside of marriage?

No,,,if that was what God meant He would have said it. That is the problem now days...people read into the bible what they want it to say. You are not to take away or add to Gods word.
