i did a permanent straight with japanese hair straightening. not many salons do it but when u find one that does, you wont regret it. i just go back once a year to touch up the new growth. even in hot humid summer, the hair doesnt frizz up or i can wet my hair and it stays dead straight.

Really it depends how curly and hair type. Some can be done with a perm and a comb doing the same process without rods. Some curls is so tight it is best done with a relaxer. Also the condition of the hair is important. At least have a professional look at it and give you an opinion even if you do not have the service done because it could be hair today gone tomorrow:-)

I use to have curly hair too! but now i miss it! i did a "reverse" which is like a perm. But they call it a reverse because since a perm curls the hair the reverse does the opposite and straightens it for like a LONG TIME! You're hair will stay straight but it depends on how fast your hair will grow. . .bcuz if you're hair grows fast you're reverse might not last longer than 6 months. Right now my hair is still straight and it's already been 7 months. It's worth a try! and it's temporary so if you miss you're beautiful curly hair you can always go back! or you can use a hair straightener! it works too!

Actually you can get a perm...the hairdresser needs to use a very large rod. It breaks down the molecular structure of the hair and redirects the curl so it will be straighter with body. I was a hairdresser for 25 yrs. I have done this many times with great success. Plus it is not as harsh as a straightner. Good luck

i have the same problem. it sucks to use a straightener every day, but it works. the only problem is it's actually burning your hair. it's hard to find a good straightener too. i have to use a lot of products to help not burn my hair too much. i would suggest a Revlon 1 1/2 inch straightener. and they can be expensive. otherwise, find a way to keep your natural look, but like it too. it took me 2 1/2 years to take my straightening time from an hour, down to 20 minutes. takes too long!

first of all, go to the local shopping centre, purchase a hair straightener, take it home, take it out of the packaging, plug it into a suitable power outlet, then pressing the "ON" button. this will begin to heat the hair straightening devise.

when hot, take a small portion of your curliness (your hair, on your hair if that is what you are trying to get straight) and close the straightener over your hair and pull down along the section of you hair.

this will make it straight

goodluck, also, beware of your ears!! they hurt when you burn them xxx

I have really curly but wat works is to get a relaxer done at the saloon, but if you don't want to do that is to get:
Sunsilk-Shamppoo
Sunsilk-Conditioner
Sunsilk-Straighten up

But and wash your hair with the shampoo and conditioner and then put some of the straighten-up balm, before you blowdry your hair, and then after you blow dry your hair, straighten it with a straightener. : ]
