Most banks do NOT allow any dogs, unless they are assistance dogs. What is more, if you never leave your dog he isn't going to get used to it and you will end up giving him behavioural problems so I would suggest leaving him at home. If you have him with you and have to pop into the bank, find somewhere out of harms way where people aren't going to trip over him etc for him to wait. And make sure he is microchipped just incase.

Don't leave him in the car - you don't want to come back to a dead dog.

Finally, and my own personal preferance here, if you have a breed that will stay small enough to fit in a carrier, I would suggest you get a proper sized dog, not a rat on a rope!

It is not likely that you will be able to take your puppy in any public place other than a place that caters to pets. The only way you are able to do this is if your dog is a service dog and even then some people will argue with you about it. Try going through the drive up window. Then you can do your banking and still have your puppy with you.

Just ask! I took my 11 week old puppy into the pharmacy because it was in the high 90's and I couldn't leave him in the car. When I asked if I could, they were so excited they gave him a treat. Being polite and not hiding him is a good way to go.

Dogs are not allowed inside public places. In certain areas you can be fined. Either leave the puppy in the car, or leave the puppy at home. That is what people do.

You should be able to take him in with you as long as you have him in a some type of carrier.

When my dog was a puppy, I would even wear her in her carrier when I went grocery shopping. I had one of those bags that went across my chest to keep her in.

I hate to see dogs locked in cars!!!

Use the drive-thru then. They often even give out puppy treats, if they see a dog in the car.

If you have a small dog, get one of those dog carriers that look like purses. I've never had a problem taking my puppy anywhere when she was in her puppy purse.

I bring my puppy with me everywhere. As long as it doesn't cause a scene, usually nobody minds. Everyone thinks a puppy is cute.
