I think they believe they are on a mission, they don't seem to care what people think, and they don't want to really hear what others think, all that matters is that they get their "message" out.

MainWorry.... I have seen you in several other questions where you have told the asker to go to a another catagory. This is the religion and spirituality catagory. Here you can discuss ANY religion and ANY aspect of it, be it what church you go to, what religion you have, what you think happens when you die, what do Muslims believe in, why do people believe in the bible etc... I hope you get my point.
This is NOT a section just for Christians. If you want Christion only discussed then go to a Christian only website.
YOU sir are on the wrong site.

Yes, I am sure it puts people off. People find religion themselves if they want to know about it.

Not all Christians push. When was the last time a Catholic came knocking on your door? There are some Christians who do not push but rather try to live and let others naturally be drawn if they are curious.

I'm sorry if Christians have "pushed their religion" on you and that you are turned away by it. 1 Peter 3:15 says that we are to, "sanctify Christ as Lord in [our] hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks [us] to give an account for the hope that is in [us], yet with gentleness and reverence." However, just because this was not they way the Gospel was presented to you does not mean it is not true.

I don't understand how Christians are "pushing their religion" on people when non-believers come to the religion section and make ugly or insulting remarks and Christians defend their views. If they went to mythology or science or mathmatics, sure they would be "pushy" but not here and not when nine times out of ten it's in defense of their faith.

I don't find too many of them pushy...I do find that they try to trick you into their belief system and that's something to watch our for. They do have issues with the idea of FREE and OPEN discussion about faith because their ability to question faith is impared by the fact that such questioning is viewed as sinful. In fact we should strive to be more generic in here and not really mention any specific belief systems. In other words let's talk religion in GENERAL not just Christian, Atheist, Agnostic, Jew, Muslim, etc...Keep it non specific. PEACE!

I get annoyed when people group all us Christians together. Not everyone's out to shove their religion down your throat.

They don't care. They feel they are on a mission to convert people, regardless of the fact that they have no logical answers to any of their claims (myths).
