Yes, but it seems that a Christian's idea of love is slightly different than the rest of the world's. When I became a Christian, I realized I never knew what love was before. What it entailed. Perfect love is what we try to show the world. And to us, the greatest act of love for someone is to share the gospel. I know that Christ turned my entire life around, and I want to share that with the world because I love them and have compassion on them and want them to know about the best, most honest, and constant love they could ever know.
Unfortunately, people usually see this as "shoving it down their throats" but really, all they have to say is "I'm not interested" and I'll shut up.
Love means taking care of not only spiritual needs, but physical ones of someone, as well. What kind of a person would say to a homeless person "God bless" and not give them some money or food?

Yeah, you SHOULD be!! But, some of us that truly practice Christianity are still a work in progress, we are still under construction so I know I'm still working on the whole compassionate and kind thing. I try hard to hold my tongue and smile. I just have to say Jesus' name something to keep me from saying something un-Christian like.

Ideally, a Christian should be loving and compassionate all of the time. In reality, Satan is trying to tempt us away from God in every way possible, which is why we as people are not always perfect. God understands that becoming Christlike is a long and difficult journey, which is why He has given us the Holy Spirit as our guide to use this life that we have been given to become more and more Christlike each day. It is a journey of faith.

If you are truly practicing Christianity, you should be WHOLLY (aka 100% of the time) loving and compassionate. But just because someone isn't doesn't mean they aren't truly Christians.

Christians are called to love as Christ loved. Will you actually do this 95% of time? I don't know, but we are called to strive for that 100% of the time. Of course we will fall short of accomplishing that. That's why we pray for strength, grace and forgiveness. As you stay in prayer and focused on the will of God, treating fellow Christians and non-believers with dignity, respect and compassion will become a way of life.

We're to pattern our lives after our great example, Christ. So we're to be loving and compassionate 100% of the time. However, this does not mean that we should not confront our friends when they are sinning or stand up for what we believe in. Jesus wasn't a pansy, and we shouldn't be either!

Why not 100% of the time if you are a true Christian.
Or do you pick and choose who to be loving and compassionate to. You lead others to God by example not by judgment of others. You are not capable of judging man that is only Gods place to judge man,Or do you place your self above God ?

I would say 100% of the time is our goal. But then you and I are humans and even Christians will make mistakes. Like it or not we are not perfect ,we are only called to strive for perfection.

Yes, you should be loving and compassionate. That doesn't mean tolerant of error, but wanting people to turn from their error before it is too late.

Well as you know God is Love and a true Christian you know it without them saying a word. It goes on to that saying actions speak louder than words. And true followers actions speak the love of God.
